Ryan Omadat Persaud is a Hollywood movie actor and professional cricket player. He is a leg-spinner by cricketing craft who has represented USA Under-19, while he got picked by Jamaica Tallawahs for the CPL 2020. And when it comes to movies, the leggie has worked in projects like After School Special and The Manor.
Born in The Queens, Persaud is of Indian descent and got introduced to the sport by his father who owns a cricketing facility in New York. He comes from a sporting background, as his uncle and two sisters played cricket at some representative level. He rose through the ranks and went on to play for Atlantic Region in the USA Cricket Association T20 National Championship back in 2014.
As he grew up, his skill got potent and he was named in his country’s junior squad for ICC’s Americas U19 Championship. The leggie played four Youth T20s against Bermuda U19 and Canada U19.
Persaud has also featured in two Hollywood movies thanks to his producer-friend. He has also played other sports such as baseball and football, but cricket was always been his true love. The spinner never left playing the sport and soon enough made the final cut.
In 2020, Persaud was picked by Jamaica Tallawahs during the CPL 2020 draft but he didn’t get to play in the league then. The franchise extended the deal and named him for the 2021 edition, which would surely be another learning curve for the American nation.
