Player Bio

A South African-born Dutch all-rounder, Billy Stelling is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm pace bowler for the Netherlands cricket team.

A much-travelled player, he started his career at Western Province in his native South Africa, before moving on to play for Boland until 1999 when he moved to English county cricket from 1999 to 2001, where he played for Berkshire and Leicestershire.

Stelling first represented the Netherlands as an overseas player in 1995 and a year later he qualified to represent his adopted country in an international competition in 2005, playing in the ICC Trophy that year. Stelling came to the limelight in an ODI against Canada in December 2006 and scored a match-winning 34-ball 39 in a thrilling run chase.

He then went on to represent the Netherlands at the 2007 ICC World Cup and struck 3 wickets against Scotland, finishing with 3 for 12 from 8 overs and earned the Man of the Match award.

In a total of 15 One day International matches, Stelling has scored 180 runs and claimed 22 wickets. Currently, 51-years old, Stelling last played competitive cricket in 2007.
