Player Bio

A giant, right-arm express bowler, Cameron Gannon is a professional Australian cricketer who is known for his ability to create extra bounce and carry making him a tough prospect for any batsman to face.

Standing at almost two meters tall, Gannon arrived at the domestic scene in 2010 for Queensland, making his debut against Tasmania in October 2010. He enjoyed a breakout season in 2012-13 Sheffield Shield, striking 31 wickets that included the wicket of Micheal Clarke twice in Queensland’s victory over the star-studded New South Wales team.

The 32-year old’s bright start to his career was halted when he was suspended for an illegal bowling action. After altering his bowling action, Gannon made a return in the 2013-14 domestic season featuring in two Shield matches for the Bulls and scalped 18 wickets in eight matches for Brisbane Heat in the third edition of the Big Bash League (BBL).

The Sydney-born pacer enjoyed another breakout season in 2018-19 domestic season stockpiling 38 wickets on 8 matches and ended up as the Sheffield Shield’s leading wicket-taker. In search of better opportunities at the highest level, Gannon moved to the USA and made his T20I debut against Bermuda in August 2019. Still a fringe member for the Perth Scorchers, he would be looking to live up to his expectations and cement his place in the Scorchers side.
