A powerful stroke-maker, Jake Lehmann is a professional Australian cricketer and the son of the former Australian cricketer, Darren Lehmann. The southpaw made his first-class debut for South Australia against Victoria in March 2015.
Lehmann made an immediate impact for his state SA, scoring a glorious double-hundred against Tasmania in a partnership worth 378 runs with Callum Ferguson in just his third first-class appearance. In the fifth edition of the Big Bash League (BBL), he shot to fame overnight when he struck a gigantic six of the last ball to win the game for Adelaide Strikers against Hobart Hurricanes.
The 29-year old batter followed his father’s footsteps when he signed for Yorkshire to play County cricket and even added a century to his name. Lehmann was awarded the 2018-19, Neil Dansie, as the most outstanding male cricketer of the season for South Australia.
Part of the Striker’s championship-winning side for the seventh edition of the BBL, Lehmann would be hoping to regain the BBL contract with the Striker’s after being dropped prior to the ninth edition of the coveted tournament.
