Milestone
That's a wrap of this game which the hosts won by 7 wickets to reduce the margin 1-2. The Indians under Harmanpreet Kaur take the series 2-1. We now move into the ODIS as the three-match ODI series kicks off on Friday, July 1st at Pallekele. Do join us for the ODI series starting from Friday and for all other cricketing action across the globe.

For now, this is me, Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Saipavan Janaki alongside our scorer/analyst Chandan Kumar Singh. Until next time we meet again, here's bidding you goodbye, stay safe, happy, and cool. CHEERS AND TA-TA!
Now, the Champions Trophy is being given to India for winning the series 2-1. Harmanpreet Kaur comes up and collects the Trophy and now she celebrates with her teammates. They assemble in front of the CHAMPIONS TAG and rightly so.
Harmanpreet Kaur has been awarded the Player of the Series.
Chamari Athapaththu has been awarded the Player of the Match.
Chamari Athapaththu, Sri Lanka Women Captain: "It's a good win for us. Loads of youngsters are there and this win will give us a boost. I was under control and got the job done. I think they are a quality side. We played to our potential. We lost close games but was a good performance today. It will help us in the ODIS starting next Friday. Thank you to the fans for the support. I am happy with the support."
Harmanpreet Kaur India Women Captain: "Definitely. I think they deserve the win and they batted well and after 6-7 overs they never allowed us back in the game. We needed a better strike rate. The partnership was good but needs to score quicker. We need to work on that. The crowd has been great and I thank them for supporting women's cricket. I hope, they keep supporting us in the future as well."
A clinical chase by Sri Lanka as they win this game by 7 wickets with 3 overs to spare. Magnificent innings from their skipper Chamari Athapaththu 80 off 49 unbeaten in the end as the Lankans took advantage of a sloppy fielding performance from India. The Indians win the series 2-1, but the Lankans had the last laugh today.

Chasing 139 for the consolation win, Sri Lanka rode on Chamari Athapaththu's unbeaten 80 off 48 balls with 14 fours and a six to her name. She lost her opening partner Vishmi Gunaratne for 5 in the first over. Harshita Madhavi contributed with 13 off 14 balls while Silva contributed with 30 off 28 balls as she helped her skipper in the match-winning 76-run stand. Dilhari was unbeaten on 7 off 7 balls as Sri Lanka got to the target within 17 overs.

From India's point of view, Renuka Singh bowled 4 overs 1 for 27. Deepti Sharma was expensive in her 3 overs yielding 26 runs. Radha Yadav was taken to the cleaners by Chamari as she went for 41 runs in 4 overs with a wicket in it. Pooja Vastrakar bowled only a solitary over for a single run. The skipper Harmanpreet Kaur bowled 2 overs for 13 runs. Simran Bahadur was tonked for 20 runs in 2 overs while Shafali bowled a decent first over for 4 runs. Loads of catches were dropped by the Indians as their fielding more than their bowling let them down today.

Earlier in the game, it was Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur who won the toss and elected to bat first. India lost Shafali Verma for 5 in the first over. Smriti Mandhana hung around for her 22 off 21 balls while Meghana contributed 22 off 26 balls. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur led from the front with her 39 off 33 balls ably supported by Jemimah Rodrigues 33 off 30 balls. Pooja Vastrakar struck a few blows towards the end getting to 13 off 6 balls as India recovered from a slow start to get to a competitive 138-5 in their allotted 20 overs.

From Sri Lanka's bowling point of view, well they kept the Indian batters at bay. Kumari bowled 4 overs 1-28. Kanchana was good in her 1-22 in 4 overs. Ranasinghe bowled 3 overs 1-13. Ranaweera bowled 4 overs 1-31 a tad expensive today. Dilhari bowled her 3 overs for 22 runs while the skipper chipped in with 2 overs which yielded 21 runs. They bowled well and kept India down under 140.

So, a win by Sri Lanka by 7 wickets with 3 overs to spare. They lose the series 2-1. The Indians under Harmanpreet Kaur bag the series. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation ceremony coming your way soon.
