So, that's it from this game and the series. We hope you enjoyed the coverage of this match and the 3-match ODI series as much as we loved bringing it to you. Until next time, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentators Arijit Kundu and Badal Pareek alongside scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and Cheers! Stay tuned for all the other cricketing action across the globe.
So, Pat Cummins now goes and takes the trophy to his teammates and the Australians pose in front of the cameras with the champions tag. They deserve the celebrations as they have outplayed England in all the three ODIS that we had post the T20 World Cup. A difficult way for England to exit Australia, but they will be proud of winning the big prize the T20 World Cup in Australia.
Pat Cummins (Australia Captain): "Yes pretty happy. Everything clicked. The batters and the bowlers all worked in unison. I am happy with the opening stand and that worked. It was a tricky wicket to bat on and the way Davey [David Warner] and Trav [Travis Head] went about was great.

Looking forward to the tests now and hope for a great series coming up. Head was the biggest positive to come out of this series. The way he applied himself with Finchy missing was great to see. Looking forward to the Test series coming our way now."
Jos Buttler (England captain): "We tried our best but fell short. Australia were brilliant. There are lots to be proud of. Don't wanna forget the scenes (T20 World Cup win) from the last week here."
David Warner (Player of the Series): "Proud to get the trophy. The bowlers bowled well and then the way the batters did their job. Proud of the effort. 2024 is a long time away and lots of cricket ahead of us. Cannot think along those lines yet. Pat Cummins is doing a great job and I will help him and hope to help the younger generations coming forward. My aim is to help the youngsters, and not necessarily think of captaining Australia. Proud of the efforts."
Travis Head (Player of the Match): "Felt nice to be back with Davey as an opening pair.It was great to have a partnership with David. The first 30-40 runs were a bit tricky. Yeah, it was good, rode with my luck in the initial phases. Yeah, I think we play very similar, we play positive, David faced a lot of balls in the first 10. I think we fed off each other very well."
Adam Zampa finishes things off in style as he picks up his 4th wicket of the day as Australia has demolished England by 221 runs under the DLS method. They whitewash the series 3-0 as England have been bundled out for 142 in 31.4 overs here at the MCG. To put things into perspective, England has fallen 10 runs short of Travis Head's individual score.

Chasing a revised target of 364 for an improbable win in 48 overs, the England innings never got going as they faltered from the start. They lost Dawid Malan early for 2 runs. Jason Roy contributed with 33 off 48 balls. James Vince was slow with his 22 off 45 balls. Moeen Ali got to 18 off 31 balls. Sam Curran got 12, Liam Dawson 18, while David Willey was unbeaten for his 12 off 7 balls. But they were never in the chase and never threatened the Aussies at all. In the end, they could muster 142 in 31.4 overs to lose the game by a whopping 221 runs under the DLS system. 13 extras were contributed by the Aussie bowlers.

Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers once again with 4/31 in 5.4 overs. Pat Cummins picked up a couple of wickets and so did Sean Abbott. Josh Hazlewood got a wicket and so did Mitchell Marsh. They all bowled well and blew away England here at the MCG.

Earlier in the game, Australia put into bat first and put on a masterclass. It was the Travis Head-David Warner show all the way as they took the game away from England. There were two rain interruptions at the MCG today which reduced the game to 48 overs a side contest. This only halted the momentum of Australia briefly as it was carnage all the way. The opening duo put up 269 runs in 38.1 overs with Warner getting to 106 off 102 balls while Travis Head was magnificent as he top scored with 152 off 130 balls.

Steven Smith chipped in with 21 off 16 balls. Marcus Stoinis scored 12 off 15 balls. Mitchell Marsh finished things off in style with 30 off 16 balls. Alex Carey remained unbeaten on 12* off 6 balls while Marnus Labuschagne remained unbeaten on 8* off 4 balls as Australia powered their way to 355/5 in 48 overs with 14 extras given by the English bowlers.

Olly Stone was the pick of the bowlers for England in terms of taking wickets. He picked up 4 wickets but went for 85 runs in his 10 overs. The other wicket went to Liam Dawson who finished with 1 for 75 in 10 overs. The rest of the bowlers went wicketless and went for plenty of runs.  Australia has outplayed England in all facets of the game and deservingly takes the series 3-0.

So, Australia wins this game by 221 runs under the DLS method. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation ceremony that comes your way soon.

31.4 A Zampa to O Stone
W Knocked him over!! Stone goes for the big slog heave and gets beaten on the inside edge. The white cherry sneaks through the big gap between the bat and the body to clatter the timbers over. England are bundled up and Australia have successfully enforced a whitewash.
