So, that's it from this game. Both sides will be back in action on Tuesday for the third and final ODI at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Tuesday. Do join us for that game and for all other cricketing action across the globe in our network. Plenty of WBBL action comes your way tomorrow. Until next time, this is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentators Akshaya Krishna Polya, and Karthik Raj alongside scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and Cheers from us all!
Josh Hazlewood (Australia Captain): "Yes, it was thanks to the players around me. We bowled well and the partnership there almost took it away and then we got wickets to bring the game back in our favor of us. I was happy with 280. Marnus showed intent and that partnership helped us a lot. I was seeing around whom to bring in and the boys made me look great out there. Yes, I think we can play together, and let's see how the weather holds up in Melbourne. Obviously lot of rain is around there. Smithy was classy and his knock is a treat to watch. Looking forward to Melbourne."
Moeen Ali (England Captain): "We were in a good position with the bat but lost three quick wickets in the middle and obviously at the start of the things. At the end we bowled well. The wicket got better to bat but we lost too many wickets in clumps. They bowled well when we were cruising. Just hoping to finish off the series with a win. We have had a very good time in Australia having won the World Cup, so will be good to register a win in this ODI series."
Mitchell Starc (Player of the Match): "Yeah, pretty good, I guess. Nice to have a series win. Now hope to move on to Melbourne and get another win. It was great to run in harder and finish my action with full flow. It was nice to get the job done for Josh. Yeah, it was about bowling in partnerships. We did it well. Obviously, it was Smith, as usual, sparkling in the bat for us. He (Josh Hazlewood) led from the front, and that is what you get from him. Hits the right lengths and puts the batters under pressure. Zampa has been a wicket-taker for years for us, and he does it again and again in the middle overs. He's so clinical in pressure situations, constantly bringing himself back into the game; it was nice for him to snag four wickets; he's been so great for us."
Adam Zampa: "We have got an experienced bowling group who look after themselves. So, it makes Hoff's (Josh Hazlewood) job a bit easier. But he did a great job!"
A convincing win for Australia as they have outplayed England in all three departments of the game to win by 72 runs and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series. The 3rd game in Melbourne will be a dead rubber. Josh Hazlewood as captain wins his first game and he will be delighted with that effort from his boys.

Chasing a stiff target of 281 on a slow pitch, England got off to the worst possible start as Jason Roy and Dawid Malan for ducks to Mitchell Starc in the first over of the game. Phil Salt followed the two batters back into the hut as he could muster only 23 off 16 balls. England were struggling at 34/3 and looked out of the game. From thereon, it was the partnership between James Vince and Sam Billings that powered England and put them in the ascendancy. Vince scored 60 while Billings top-scored with 71. The duo put on 122 runs for the fourth wicket and once Vince fell at the score of 156, England lost their way. The rest of the batters fell like a pack of cards and although Liam Dawson scored 20 in the end it was all too late as England were bowled out for 208 in 38.5 overs with 8 extras given by the Australian bowlers.

Mitchel Starc was the chief destroyer for Australia as he started the damage with the new ball. He ended up with 4/47 in 8 overs. Adam Zampa was special as well with the ball with his 4/45 in 9.5 overs as he finished things off nicely. A couple of wickets for the stand-in skipper Josh Hazlewood to cap off a good day in the office.

Earlier in the game, Australia got off to a steady start after opting to bat first. David Warner and Travis Head got off to start but couldn’t kick on. Warner made 16, while Head made 19. But it was the Steve Smith-Marnus Labuschagne show as the duo added 101 runs for the third wicket. Labuschagne was dismissed for 58 while Smith continued for yet another significant knock. He made 94 falling 6 short of a well-deserved 100. Mitchell Marsh chipped in with 50. Marcus Stoinis with his 13 off 14 balls and Ashton Agar with his 18* off 12 balls propelled the Australians to 280/8 with 12 extras given by the English bowlers.

Adil Rashid was the pick of the bowlers for England with 3/57 off 10 overs. Chris Woakes bowled well with his 2/42 off 10 overs. David Willey picked up a couple of wickets in his 2/44 off 9 overs. Moeen Ali picked up a wicket of David Warner. Liam Dawson was wicketless but kept it tight in his 48 runs off 10 overs. Sam Curran was taken to the cleaners today.

So, Australia wins this game by 72 runs to go 2-0 up in the series. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation ceremony that comes your way now.
