So, that's it from this game. Do join us for the second ODI between the teams on Wednesday and for all other cricketing action across the globe in our network. Super Sunday is just getting started in our network. For now, this is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentators Ninaad Dixit, and Shashank Surly, alongside scorer/analysts Ashok Dayma, and Ghanendra Singh Thakur. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Until next time, goodbye and CHEERS from us!
Cameron Green: "It was awesome to have a great day. Finch gave me confidence and got the job done. We had to understand the wicket and understand it was up and down and back-of-length delivery is the way to go here. So, happy to be executing it well. Yes, there are lots of groups like fishing and golfing amongst our groups and I belong to the fishing one. Hope I do well there. Look forward to the game on Wednesday."
Cameron Green is the player of the match!
Regis Chakabva (Zimbabwe skipper): "The wicket was a little bit tricky. The boys did well to try and soak up the pressure We didn't have enough runs on the board. The boys did really well and gave us a good start. We didn't finish well. With the ball again we started on a little low but the boys came back strongly. We would like to put up a few more runs on the board. Maybe we can keep on the positive things that came out today, just try and take a step up in the next game. Bit of a rest and we regroup again on Tuesday."
Aaron Finch (Australian Skipper): "The pitch probably dried more than we thought. Zimbabwe played well, but we finished off well with the ball in the end. We always do our do analysis of our opponents, also we see some guys play when you get to the field during the warm-ups, to see on what you might face, especially guys you haven't faced before.

But our bowlers executed their plans well. There was a bit of seam early on in the pitch, Mitchell Marsh does that well so we stuck with him, he followed Josh Hazlewood and held things tight. Mitchell Starc is one of the best of all time in my opinion, his skills is exceptional also been a superstar for a long while. Cameron Green has had a tough start with the ball in his young career, him getting a 5-fer today was really a nice thing."
Glenn Maxwell finishes things off in style as Australia draws first blood in the series winning the contest by 5 wickets to go 1-0 up in the 3-match series. Zimbabwe didn't have enough and they tried with the ball, but in the end, 200 was never going to be enough.

Chasing a paltry target of 201 for the win, Australia got off to a steady start with David Warner and Aaron Finch adding 43 runs for the first wicket. Finch failed again as he went for 15 runs. Steven Smith joined David Warner in the middle and the duo added 65 runs for the second wicket before Warner fell for 57. Australia then lost its way a bit with the middle order batters misfiring. Alex Carey (10), Marcus Stoinis (19), and Mitchell Marsh (2) missed out and frittered away their chances.  But then Glenn Maxwell came and finished things off in style with an unbeaten 32 off 9 balls with 3 fours and as many sixes to his name. Steve Smith remained unbeaten on 48 off 80 balls to guide the chase home with less drama.

Ryan Burl was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets to his name. A wicket to his fellow spinner Sikander Raza while Richard Ngarava got the wicket of Australian skipper Aaron Finch. They needed at least 250 on this wicket to compete but lost 6-15 with the bat and lost the contest. Zimbabwe gave away as many as 18 extras to the Australian total which given they were defending 200 was not acceptable.

Earlier in the game, it was Aaron Finch who won the toss and opted to bowl first under overcast conditions at Townsville. Zimbabwe got off to a steady start putting on 42 runs for the first wicket before Innocent Kaia fell for 17. Marumani continued batting and scored 45 putting on 45 for the second wicket with Wesley Madhevere. Madhevere top-scored with 72 while Regis Chakabva contributed with 31 off 33 balls as the skipper. Sikandar Raza missed out for a change while the rest couldn’t deliver.

The visitors were placed at 185-4 and then lost their last six wickets for 16 runs in a span of 28 balls as the Aussies were giving nothing away. Cameron Green was the star with the ball for Australia with figures of 5-33 in 9 overs for his first five-wicket haul in ODIS. He was ably supported by Adam Zampa who picked up 3 wickets for 57 runs in 10 overs. A wicket apiece for Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Marsh. Josh Hazlewood went wicketless but gave away only 36 runs in 10 overs. Glenn Maxwell only bowled 4 overs for 19 runs. 11 extras also contributed to the Zimbabwe total.

So, Australia takes a 1-0 lead and garners 10 crucial points in the World Super League. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation ceremony.

Shashank "Big Show" finishes things in style and takes Australia to a 1-0 lead in this 3-match ODI series.
33.3 R Ngarava to G Maxwell
6 And here it comes!! It's all over! Australia get home by five wickets. Another back of a length delivery around the leg stump. Maxwell goes for the pull and targets the same backward square area. Clears the field yet again! Australia win by five wickets with 99 deliveries to spare!
33.2 R Ngarava to G Maxwell
6 SIXX!!! Glenn Maxwell is in a hurry to finish this game! Gets a short one straying on the leg stump. Rocks back and hooks this over the backward square boundary for a biggie! He is batting in complete control! Australia just a hit away from sealing the win.
