What an opening night this was for the Supernovas, registering their first win convincingly! Trailblazers now have to win their last match with a good margin and make sure Supernovas beat Velocity tomorrow. Join us tomorrow for the live coverage at 3 pm. This is Shubham signing off along with my co-commentators, Shashank and Akshaya, and scorer/analyst Chandan Kumar. Until then, goodnight and stay healthy!
Harmanpreet Kaur (winning Captain): "Yes, I think so. The way we bowled in the second innings was very good. We were 20-runs short. I was standing at one end and wickets were falling at the other end. I wanted to bat till the end and that's why I was playing the way I did. We were having a couple of good partnerships in the middle but wickets at clusters didn't help either. It was a good bowling performance from Pooja. She did pull things back after a very good start by Matthews and Smriti. She is always working hard and tonight she showed her talent once again. We need to bat on if we are set like Harleen and Priya were but they threw their wickets away. See, we have a game tomorrow. We can't just relax out there. We need to push for the win the same way we did today. When you win the game, you're happy and relaxed. Because we won, I don't think we're very tired."
Pooja Vastrakar: "My plans were just to execute perfect line and lengths. Take wickets for my team. Yeah, this pitch had something for the bowlers. I exploited it well. Yeah, during the mid-innings the discussion was to bowl dot balls and build pressure so that the batters throw their wickets away. We had a few sessions in the cap where we were asked to talk with the teammates. So, we were made as a group and we were ready to play as a team together."
Pooja Vastrakar is the Player of the Match.
Smriti Mandhana (Losing captain): "Definitely not the result we wanted, but lot of positives to take from the match as our bowlers did really well to pull back the things as they were looking to get to 180 plus at one stage. We were in the chase till the ninth over mark but then lost momentum in our innings. We were poor in the field today, we didn't give enough importance to the ones and twos and got our tactics wrong as we didn't execute our plans well. We will have to pick ourselves from this loss and get enough rest to focus more and comeback stronger for our next game which is crucial."
Supernovas WIN the first match of the Women's T20 challenge by 49 RUNS!

Pooja Vastrakar showed again why is she among the best all-rounders now in international cricket! Unplayable in her spell(4-12-4) and completely dismantled the Trailblazer's top order! Ecclestone (4-19-2) was once again on the money, bowling some tight lines and lengths. Alana King( 4-30-2) bowled a good spell as well and supported Ecclestone brilliantly!

Smriti Mandhana(34 off 23) and Hayley Matthews(18 of 14) were off to a good start, scoring 39 in the first five. Both the openers looked in tremendous touch but failed to convert their starts. Trailblazers went from 63/1 to 73/7 and went completely out of the match! Jemimah Rodrigues(24 off 21) was the lone fighter there, played some aggressive shots but was dismissed by a terrific catch by Harleen at deep covers! It was just a formality after her wicket and they must be disappointed with themselves today!

Coming to Supernovas innings, they posted 163 in their 20 overs. Punia and Dottin gave their team a rocking start, scoring 50 in just 5 overs! Dottin(32 off 17) was looking very dangerous until she ran for a non-existing single and threw her wicket! Harleen timed the ball beautifully today and played a good little cameo of 35 off 19. Harmanpreet(37 off 29) held one end till the 19th over to guide the team to a good total! Hayley Matthews(4-29-3) and Salman Khatun(4-30-2) were the best bowlers for Trailblazers and bowled some tight lines and lengths and forced the batters to make mistakes!

0 That's it!! This is the biggest win in terms of runs in the tournament history. Supernovas win by 49-runs!!  Fuller length delivery on the off stump line. Gayakwad stays leg side of it as she squeezes it to backward point for no run.
19.5 D Dottin to Thakur
1 Fuller length delivery on the leg stump line. Renuka clears her front leg and ends up getting it off the inside edge which hits her pads on the way to short leg area for a single.
19.4 D Dottin to Thakur
0 A peach of a yorker just missing the leg stump. Renuka backs away but fails to bring the bat down in time. It goes under her bat through to the keeper.
19.3 D Dottin to Thakur
0 Fuller length delivery on the stumps. Renuka moves away to the leg side and drives it to the right of point who dives well to stop it.
19.2 D Dottin to Thakur
0 Fuller length delivery a shade outside the off. Renuka shuffles across way outside the off and misses the ramp to the keeper.
19.1 D Dottin to Thakur

18.6 A King to Thakur
1 Around the wicket, fuller but down the leg side following the batter. Renuka drives it to wide long on for a single.
18.5 A King to Thakur
0 Fuller on the stumps. Renuka on the front foot digs it back at the bowler.
18.4 A King to Thakur
4 FOURRR!!! Tosses it on a length around the off and middle stump line. Renuka dances down the track and hoicks it off the inside half of the bat down to deep backward square leg region for a boundary. These are very important runs for the batting side.
Shashank: Pooja Vastrakar with a brilliant piece of fielding as she hits the stumps directly at the non strikers end. The batter though had just made it safely inside and Trailblazers are still hanging in there.
18.3 A King to R Gayakwad
1 IS THIS THE END OF THE INNINGS? Fuller length and on the off. Gayakwad on the front foot pushes it to mid off and takes the fielder on for a quick single. A direct hit at the bowler's end and replay says the batter has dragged her bat in time.
