Milestone
That's it from our end today. The first test between Bangladesh and Srilanka ends in a draw. Both the teams batted beautifully but the two top highlights for me in this test match are Angelo Mathews's 199 and the control with which the Bangladeshi spinners have bowled in this test! We will join you guys on Monday for the 2nd test match. This is Shubham signing off along with Badal, Akshaya, and our scorer/analyst Ashok. Until then, stay safe and stay healthy!
Angelo Mathews (Player Of The Match) : "Yes it was disappointing but it's cricket and you have to accept what God writes for you (On missing out on 200). It was a batting-friendly wicket but the Bangladesh bowlers didn't give any freebies. Personally,  I had to work hard and be more focused as the conditions were hot and humid. Without the partnership, I could not have scored those runs, so credit goes to them for stitching some good partnerships (Chandimal and Mendis) and I hope they get a big score in the next match too."
Mominul Haque | Bangladesh Captain: "I always smile and love to smile. We didn't do well in South Africa. Obviously they were overseas conditions. Here we have done well. Yeah, result wise I am disappointed. Shakib and Taijul bowled well. Shakib and Taijul know their role and they did well. In the first innings, Nayeem performed really well. He was playing after many days and he has done well. We had four bowlers and we have done very good in the match. Tamim and Mushfiqur are experienced batters and know their job. They got us the lead but we couldn't capitalise with the ball. We need to improve from this performance. I mean we need to improve everyday. We will come back stronger in the next match."
Dimuth Karunaratne | Sri Lanka Captain: "I think if you take the outcome of the match then I think we are happy with that. I think they played well. We batted well in the first innings but in the second innings we were on the back foot but in the end we have done well to end tis game on a draw. Two pacers were good in their approach and then spinners came and bowled well. We lost wickets at crucial junctures due to bad shot selections and we need to look into it in the coming games. We couldn't clear mid-off and mid-on and ended up throwing our wickets away. Dickwella and Chandimal are have played in these situations and exactly know how to handle.  Unfortunately, we couldn't put pressure on Bangladesh. So we were always behind the game."
Time for presentations here at Chattogram!
END of Day 5 and the end of a brilliant Test match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Both teams have shaken hands and they have agreed on a draw!

Sri Lanka started the day at 39/2. Kusal Mendis(48 off 43) was looking aggressive and played some brilliant shots, stitching a 67-run partnership with his Captain before Taijul bowled him up with a beauty! Mathews looked itchy from the start as the Bangladeshi bowlers kept bowling some tight lines and lengths and in the process, gifted his wicket away to Taijul without opening his account. Dimuth Karunaratne once again played a tremendous knock(52 of 138) and held one end until the 47th over!  The Bangladeshi spinners were on a roll and looked unplayable at times, especially Taijul and Shakib. Dinesh Chandimal and Niroshan Dickwella rescued their team from 161-6 and made sure they take their team towards a draw. Chandimal(39 of 135) used up all his international experience and did not take any risks against the spinners and kept blocking the balls, making sure they don't lose any more wickets! Dickwella(61 off 96) took his time at the start but once he settled down and played 40-50 balls, he attacked the spinners and played some hard-hitting shots!

Taijul(34-82-4)  was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh and reminded everyone why is he one of the highly rated left-arm spinners in tests! Shakib(25-58-1)  tested the batsmen as he kept attacking the stumps and gave no loose deliveries to hit. Nayeem Hasan also bowled some good lines and lengths but got no wickets against his name.

Sri Lanka scored 397 in the first innings, courtesy of Angelo Mathew's 199 and Chandimal's 66. Both the batsman set the tone and took their team to a respectable total! Nayeem and Shakib were the best bowlers for Bangladesh, taking 6 wickets and 3 wickets respectively. Bangladesh in reply scored 465, with Tamim scoring his 10th Test Century, Musfiqur scoring his seventh hundred, and Liton Das playing an outstanding knock of 88! Asitha Fernando and Rajitha, the concussion substitute bowler for Vishwa Fernando, were the pick of the bowlers, picking up 3 and 4 wickets respectively! Don't go anywhere as the presentation is lined up next. Lot of discussions coming up. Until then, stay tuned!

90.1 M Hasan to N Dickwella
0 Length ball on the off stump as the batter defends it on the front foot. That is it from the first Test as both the teams shake hands here.
