10.45 PM IST| That's a wrap from us then here!! We have seen an amazing game of cricket today as New Zealand proved to be more strong than the hosts. The Scotland fans will be hoping that their side bounces back in the second T20I which is on Friday here in Edinburg, don't forget to tune into that game. This is Tugral Azmi signing off along with my co-commentator Ajay Ahire along with our scorer Manish Bishnoi. Goodbye and Goodnight :)
Mitchell Santner(New Zealand skipper): "We got off to a great start and it started to spin in the middle which was great for us. You know it helps when you bowl in tandem(Bowling with Ish Sodhi). Finn showed a glimpse in Ireland and today he got that big one. I think this performance shows the depth of our squad and it's great for a team."
Richard Berrington(Scotland skipper): "Not the best day for us and certain areas that we need to look after and move on with the improvements. I think we leaked a few more runs at the back end. They took the game away from us at the backend. I think it's just good to be back playing the T20. Graves bowled really well in the middle and that's a good sign for us."
Finn Allen(Player of the match): "Absolutely nice to get on there in the middle and score some runs. Nice to get those on the board and happy that I got that hundred for the country. Guptill is a calm character and it's so good to work with him in the middle. It was a great surface to bat on surely."
10.30 PM IST| New Zealand continued their winning streak in the first T20 as well and take the lead by 1–0 with the performance. New Zealand's best bowling helped the Scotland team beat this match very easily by 68 runs.

In reply to the target set by the visitors, the host started in an opposite manner scoring 46 runs without losing any wicket in the powerplay which laid a good foundation for them to go on and win this game. When Scotland's openers came to chase, both the batters were handling Scotland's innings and were also scoring runs at a brisk rate. When none of the bowlers succeeded in getting any wickets, Sodhi took charge and got Munsey (28 off 28) to take the first one. Shortly after, Sodhi gave Ollie a cheap return of the pavilion in the same manner. It was only a few seconds that Munsey and Ollie were out that Calum MacLeod (33 off 24) became the victim of Santner. Sodhi did not give the Scottish captain a chance to stay in the next over and on the score of just two runs, he uprooted his wicket with his spin.

The Scotland team's batsmen could not achieve much even after a strong start, losing 5 wickets for only 88 runs. Greaves and Leask managed Scotland's faltering effort, they scored 29 runs for the sixth wicket, but the New Zealand bowlers did not give any batters enough time to stay in the game. Greaves made 31 off 22 balls and he lost his wicket after being caught in Sodhi's googly. Mark Watt (17* off 12) played a quick-fired unbeaten knock. The Scottish players failed with both bat and ball and eventually suffered a 68-run defeat.

However, from the bowling side, today was a good day for the Kiwis, first, they put a big target of 225 on the board while batting and when their bowlers' turn came, they also showed their best performance. Then their bowlers uprooted the opponent’s wickets with their deadly bowling attack. Ish Sodhi was an effective and impactful bowler throughout the innings. He was the pick of the bowlers for New Zealand he took 4 wickets and gave away 28 runs in his 4 overs. Mitchell Santner also took a couple of wickets. Lockie Ferguson also managed to take a wicket. This is New Zealand's fourth straight victory in T20 Internationals after winning the game by 68 runs.
