That's a wrap of this game which the hosts won by an innings and 39 runs and level the series by 1-1. For now, this is me, Saipavan Janaki signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentators Hitesh Peddurwar and Ayan Chatterjee alongside our scorer/analyst  Dushyant Kumar. Until then, goodbye, stay safe, happy, and enjoy!!!

Karunaratne and Cummins share the Trophy!!!!
Dimuth Karunaratne(Sri Lankan Captain): "I think as I said earlier we couldn't do much in the first match we were focusing to get the big one in this game, I think all the batters put up their hand and batted beautifully, I knew the wicket will be good for a couple of days, Chandimal was good he scored 200 runs and other batters also chipped, In the first match spun a lot, But here we had to play the normal cricket, Boys bounced back and did a very good job and debutant Prabhath was very good he bowled very well, This is a confidence booster for upcoming Pakistan series."
Pat Cummins, Australian Captain: "I think there are a few things. We should have got to 400+ with someone supporting Smith, but no one did so in the first innings. We had a lot of chances and failed to grab it while the Lankans were too good. Lots to learn from this Tour and the batting and bowling group had its ups and downs. We won in Test 1 and now had to face defeat, that's the part and parcel of the game. We are reasonably pleased with our effort. Thank You to the Sri Lankan crowd and the hospitality they have given us. They have been warm and have cheered us when we thought we would not be. It was special coming here and I thank all of them the SLC Board for the welcome and hospitality they have given us. We will have memories as we go back home."
Player of the series(Dinesh Chandimal): "I am over the moon especially if u r performing well and your team is winning especially in Galle wicket is tough to bat on, I didn't have any plan I just went out there and wanted to be proactive against spinners and gets runs and that's what I did, It was tough wicket in the first game, I thought when I saw the wicket on the first day I thought pitch is going to be good in first 3 days and I thought if we can get more than 100 lead it will put pressure back on them, Thanks to my family they were supporting me there were a lot of ups and down I was in and out of the team, Thanks to my teammates and support staff for supporting me."
Prabath Jayasuriya, Player of the Match: "Extremely happy to do well. This has come after loads of hard work. He was prepared for this game and played 18 First-Class games and so I was ready for it to do well. I am happy to do well."
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony.
04.55 PM IST:  Sri Lanka won by an innings and 39 runs and level the series by 1-1.
Jayasuriya is the man of the moment for Sri Lanka he has scalped 12 wickets in the match on his debut.

The third session started with Australia resuming at 52 loss of 1 wicket with Usman Khawaja( 25 off 37) and Marnus Labuschagne (2 of 9), but they had a bad start as they lost 3 wickets early in this session. Khawaja pressed forward and got an inside edge as the ball carried to Oshada Fernando at short leg.

Khawaja played the wrong line and paid the price. Khawaja departed for 29 off 47 balls and in the same over Smith got trapped in front of the stumps, Then in the 22nd over, Head didn't trouble the scores much he departed after scoring 5 runs, and Green joined Marnus in the middle and they got settled the in middle, and stitched up a partnership of 38 runs for 5th wicket then Jayasuriya struck again and took the wicket of Marnus. He was all over the Aussie batters, They didn't have any clue while batting against him. The tail of Australia didn't handle the pressure and wickets started tumbling down for the Aussies as they got bundled out for 151 runs.

Earlier in the day, Sri Lanka bowled out for 554 in 181 overs. Exceptional batting from Dinesh Chandimal as he completed his maiden Test double ton. He remained unbeaten on 206. Dinesh Chandimal and Ramesh Mendis were at the crease with an overall lead of 67 runs when the play got underway. They both played well in the first hour before Mitchell Starc with the third new ball finally got a wicket for Australia as the full-length ball swung back in and caught Mendis, he departed at 29 in 98 deliveries. Afterward,  Mahesh Theekshana joined  Dinesh Chandimal as this duo put on 21 for the 8th wicket before Maheesh Theekshana was castled by Pat Cummins the Australian skipper as he finally picked up his first wicket in this Test match. The others hung around for a while before they were bowled out for 554 in 181 overs.

Australia started their second innings with  David Warner and Usman Khawaja looking in control in their 49-run opening stand. They looked fairly in control before Warner fell for the sweep to the straighter ball and was adjudged LBW to Ramesh Mendis for 24 off 44 balls.

Sri Lankans have fought back very well after losing the first test match with an innings, They have leveled the series by 1-1 and the trophy will be shared by both the teams!!!

This is Australia's first innings defeat since the 2016 defeat to South Africa at Hobart.
Prabath Jayasuriya becomes the first Sri Lankan bowler to take 12 wickets on debut.
