Milestone
That's it from our coverage of this Test match which the visitors won comfortably inside three days to consolidate their position at the top of the WTC standings. They will look to further consolidate their position when the two teams are back on July 8th for the second Test match at the same venue. Do join us for that and for all other cricketing actions across the globe happening in our network.

This is me, Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshay Bhide, and Saipavan Janaki alongside our scorer/analyst Ghanendra. Until we meet again, stay well, safe, and cool. Goodbye and CHEERS from us all.
Pat Cummins | Australian Skipper: "Feels amazing. We turned up this morning but never thought of finishing this match so early. Everyone stepped up and happy with the effort from the boys. We had clear plans and credit to the batters the way they batted. Someone like Green who has grown up playing at WACA in Perth and these conditions are completely opposite to those. But the way he adapted and played, really happy with his performance."

Dimuth Karunaratne | Sri Lankan Skipper: "It's been a disappointing performance. Getting bundled out for 212 after opting to bat first and then the bowlers didn't do their job properly. Aussies were better than us. I think it was a bad effort from our batting unit and we are responsible for this loss. The spinners are inexperienced and they are learning. We bowled well in patches. Ramesh bowled well and no one supported him, to be honest. Regarding the second innings, I think we wanted to put the pressure on the Australian bowlers and that's why we came out all guns blazing. I think we played bad shots at the wrong time and paid the price for it. We will look into where we went wrong and hope to come back stronger in the next Test match."
Cameron Green | Player of the Match: "When we come to subcontinents we go to a lot of unknowns. So we talk to the experienced teammates and that helps. They just said to be proactive. When you keep defending, there are chances that you may get out. So it’s better to be playing positively and happy that I contributed.'

Cameron Green is the Player of the Match.
Time for the presentations.
12:13 IST: A comprehensive 10-wicket win for Australia as they have displayed a thoroughly professional display in all the departments of the game to win this inside 3 days. In fact, they have won this by Lunch on Day3. What a performance from the visitors and the hosts have been given real hiding here.

The day started with Australia resuming at 313-8 with an overall lead of 109 runs. Pat Cummins was unbeaten on 26 and Lyon on 8. Asitha Fernando came in and got rid of the tail as the visitors added 8 runs in 11 balls for the loss of two wickets. The overall lead was a massive 109 runs.

When the Lankans came out to bat, they made their intentions clear as they plundered 17 runs off the first over bowled by Mitchell Starc. They were 30 in 3.1 overs but the spinners created havoc today. Nathan Lyon got 4 wickets and 9 for the match. But the surprise package was Travis Head with his figures reading 4-10 in 2.5 runs. Lyon had 4-31 in 11 overs. Mitchell Swepson picked up a couple of wickets as well despite going for runs. The openers from Sri Lanka got the bulk of the scoring. Dimuth Karunaratne got 23 off 20 balls while Nissanka got 14. Fernando got 12, Silva got 11 runs while Dinesh Chandimal got 13 runs. But nothing much to ride home about, to be honest. Asitha Fernando’s 5 off 2 balls made sure that The Aussies have a chase of 5 runs to do.

Chasing a mere 5 runs for the victory, David Warner finished things off in style with a four and a six of the third and fourth ball of the game off Ramesh Mendis to complete the formalities. Australia wins this game by 10 wickets. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation ceremony coming your way soon.
