That's a wrap from us then here!! We have seen an amazing game of cricket today as New Zealand proved to be more strong than the hosts in the end by 31 runs. The Irish fans will be hoping that their side bounce back in the next T20I which is on Wednesday here at Belfast, don't forget to tune into that game. Mitchell Santner (Winning Captain): " We batted poorly but Glenn showed how to adapt on this surface and he played through and took us a to a competitive total, as the Irish team are a good side to chase. We will need to improve in the batting part as we need to put more substantial partnerships going forward, our bowlers did well to keep us in the contest. Lockie Fergusson is an excellent bowler loves to bump out batters and I am happy for his performance today.
Andy Balbirnie (Losing Captain): "We thought the target was a bit above par, we wanted to restrict them at 150, bit of shame how it ended. Our bowlers did well at the top, but we batted poorly as we could not put anything substantial and hope to come out strong next game."
Glenn Phillips(Man of the match): "It felt really well after a tough start with the bat, But we recovered really well. 170 when we thought 150 would be a par score on this wicket was really good. Games that are a bit tough are always rewarding and glad to be on the winning side."

New Zealand maintain their winning spree here in Ireland, they have cruised past Ireland today as they take the first game of the series by 31 runs. Ireland were always chasing a daunting task of chasing 173 and will rue the fact that they gave 10-15 runs too many in the death overs. New Zealand bowlers were clinical and didn't let the Ireland batters any breathing space.
Irish skipper Balbirnie chose to bowl first, they put the visitors under some early pressure as the pair of Joshua Little and Mark Adair got rid of the dangerous Kiwi top order in the powerplay and had them reeling at 54 for 4 at one stage. Glenn Phillips and Jimmy Neesham resurected the innings and took the total past the 100 mark.
Glenn Phillip's played responsibly well, took his time early on and then thrashed the bowlers in the death overs and with his 52 ball 69 which included 7 fours and a huge six steadied the New Zealand ship and carried them past the 170 mark. Josh Little ended the day with impressive figures of 4 for 35 off his four overs as other bowlers did well to chip in.
Ireland batting never got off to the perfect start as they lost too many wickets in the powerplay and had no answer against Lockie Fergusson's lightning fast bowling as he ended his day with impressive spell of 4 for 14 from 4 overs, he was supported from James Neesham and Mitchell Santner who got two wickets apiece as Jacob Duffy and Ish Sodhi picked one each.
Ireland struggled against spin and pace and failed to get anything good with the bat, only Curtis Campher (29 off 21) and Mark Adair (25 off 20) got past the twenty mark. Ireland were down and out at 96 for 6, but Mark Adair and Barry McCarthy put on a fighting 35 run stand to salvage some sorts of pride for the hosts as they got bundled out for 142 in the end.

W WICKET!!! That's it that's the game for the Kiwis. But we need to wait for that one as Craig Young goes upstairs against the decision. Ferguson puts his all effort into that one as he bangs that one short on the leg stump line. With full pace on that one. Young looks to move away from the line of the ball but he gets something down the line and it goes straight into the hands of the keeper. Ultra edge comes up and it shows the spike as the ball passes the gloves. And that's the confirmation of the Kiwi win as they beat Ireland by 31 runs. They kept their winning run on here and have taken the lead by 1-0 in this three-match series...

0 Huge appeal and it has been denied by the umpire. Duffy bowls that one on a fuller length as he follows the batter and Young misses the clip on the pads. Santner takes his time and goes upstairs. No bat was involved in that one and wickets missing on the hawk-eye. This means Kiwis will lose their review.
