Tugral: A commanding victory for the South African women's team as they defeated Sri Lanka women by 10 wickets to claim their maiden victory and cap their Commonwealth Games campaign on a successful note.
When South Africa won the toss, they chose to bowl first, and their choice paid off in today's match. The South African opening batters got off to an aggressive start as they attempted to reach the lowest target of 47 runs. Bosch & Britts got their side off to a strong start and finished in 37 balls without losing a wicket. Anneke Bosch played an unbeaten 20 in which she hit 2 fours. On the other hand, she was supported by Tazmin, who contributed 21 runs.
From the bowling side, None of the Sri Lankan bowlers could do anything special. Their ball was not falling on the precise line and length because they were under pressure. Their bowlers had conceded 8 extras in just six overs.
Earlier in the day, Sri Lanka were bundled out on 46 in 17.1 overs, their lowest total in the shortest format. It was a sorry-looking scorecard for the Lankan side.
