Arya- West Indies was never in the run-chase right from the word go. Deandra Dottin was dismissed in the very first over by Renuka Thakur and it was a downward slope for Barbados from there on. Hayley Matthews who was the next batter who could have challenged India was dismissed soon after and Barbados kept falling apart. Not a single batter could get any momentum and the match was almost done and dusted within the powerplay itself. Renuka Singh Thakur was quite exceptional with the new ball, bagging four wickets yet again.
She tormented the Barbados top-order just like she did against Australia and Barbados never really managed to recover from that. Harmanpreet Kaur decided to bowl some of their fringe bowlers and eventually it was a comprehensive victory for them. Kyshona Knight and Shakera Selman were the only two batters who managed to het to double figures.
Earlier in the day it was India who batted first and posted a more than competitive score of 162 at the end of 20 overs. Mandhana was dismissed early but it didn't cost India much. Shafali Verma played a brilliant knock and fell just short of a well-deserved half-century when a terrible mix-up brought about her downfall. Harmanpreet Kaur was dismissed for a golden duck as Barbados stormed their way back into the game.
From there on it was some exceptional batting by Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma which got India well over the 150 mark which didn't look possible after the fall of Harmanpreet's wicket. Rodrigues completed a brilliant half-century and struck 8 fours and a six during her brilliant half-century. Deepti Sharma also struck some exceptional shots en route to 34 of 28 deliveries which eventually got India over the 160 mark.

Renuka Thakur Singh was again at her ominous best as she bagged four wickets up front and Barbados had no chance from there on. In the end, the lower order batters batted for overs and could eventually just 62 in their allotted 20 overs.
