That's all from us here at Birmingham of Game 3 of the Commonwealth Games. We had a tough time in bringing this coverage, we apologize for that, but we were treated to a thrilling encounter today, two strong teams fought hard but it was the team in black who got the better of the team in yellow. Myself Shashank Surly taking leave along with my co-commentator, Ajay Ahire and our scorer Dushyant Madhukar. Keep following the game around the globe until then goodbye :)
New Zealand have taken the honors here at Birmingham in Game number 3, they have denied a resilient South African side by 13 runs. South Africa tried hard to chase down the target but in the end, New Zealand held their nerves and kept them at bay.

South Africa opted to bowl after winning the toss, they were off to the worst start possible. The New Zealand experienced openers, Sophie Devine and Suzie Bates took the loose South African bowling attack to all parts of the ground. both added 99 run stand for the first wicket off just 80 balls, skipper Devine fell 2 short of her half century, but former skipper Suzie Bates provided the right acceleration in the end as she went on to make 91 off just 64 balls, taking her side to a formidable score of 167.

South Africa had an uphill task of chasing 168 and lost both their openers early inside the powerplay cheaply. Mignon Du Preez and Laura Woolvardt carried the innings through the middle phase as both added 46 runs  for the third wicket, both fell in quick succession.

Chloe Tryon tried to give a fight to the Kiwis with her fighting knock of 17-ball-39 along with Sune Luus' 32 from 18, both pushed hard in the end and gave New Zealand a torrid time, they both fell in the end and saw the South Africa fall short in the end.

Sophie Devine was the star with both bat and ball, a true captains performance, got 3 wickets for 37 runs for four overs after a brilliant batting performance. Amelia Kerr, Hayley Jansen nd Hannah Rowe were the other wicket takers.
