That brings us to the end of our coverage for today. Till the next time, it's ta-ta and good-night from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) and my fellow commentator Akshaya Krishna Polya along with our scorer/ statistician Paras Yadav.
Virat Kohli | Man of the Match: "Quite a bit. I can keep going. No issues at all. Important game for us tonight. I was disappointed having not done enough for the team which bothers me more than the stats. It's how much impact I can make for the team. You just need to keep the perspective right. You have to understand that the expectations are because of what you have done in the past. Sometimes you always think of all the things which goes wrong. I batted 90 minutes in the nets yesterday. I wanted clarity every ball I faced and came out with a clear mindset today and was able to pull it off. I have, it's in the spur of the moment that why it happened on me. Back in England in 2018, I was dropped on 22 and then went onto make 149. Had that catch been taken it would have been so different. I think with the very first shot I played of Shami I felt that I can hit the length balls over the bowler's head for a boundary. When I know that I am hitting good boundaries for four then I know that I will always get other deliveries where I can score boundaries. After that shot I knew I had to give myself time. The sort of support I have got is really special. I haven't seen so much love in such a large scale."
Faf du Plessis | Royal Challengers Bangalore Captain"I mean that obviously what you hope for. We haven't done enough in the season that we would have liked but when the time comes the big players rise to the occasion. Was great to see Virat back in form and hitting those shots. That gets him going. He is very fired up. I am getting pumped up with him and it's really fun when he is out there. He almost pulls you into that. Almost like a rugby game the way Kohli remains pumped up. The Maxwell catch was awesome. We tried to get some wickets in the powerplay which sets the tone. When I hit the stumps I asked what about my arm? I think tonight was very important for obvious reason. You want to show that you are a group who remains confident. Really important to see the performance. The rest is out of our hands. One or two inconsistent performances have put us in the situation tonight. I am banking on Rohit (for the MI vs DC clash)."
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony with Harsha Bhogle.

Akshaya: Earlier, Gujarat Titans won the toss and opted to bat first as Hardik Pandya wanted to challenge themselves in setting a total. Wriddhiman Saha batted aggressively in the powerplay and piled on some quick suns. But his partner Shubman Gill (1 off 4) was stunned by a brilliant one-handed catch from Glenn Maxwell off Josh Hazlewood.

Matthew Wade (16 off 13) played some strokes crisply but was trapped in front of stumps from his fellow Aussie Maxwell. Although this decision was a controversial one as Wade thought that there was an inside edge on that.

Saha (31 off 22) added some more runs after the powerplay also but perished due to a miscommunication with his skipper Hardik Pandya who called through for a single but Saha remained ball watching, ending in a disastrous run-out.

At the time Saha was out, the scorecard was reading 62-3. David Miller joined hands with his skipper and both started rebuilding the innings alongside some fabulous ball striking. Miller (34 off 25 including three sixes) was the victim of a great reflex catch from Wanindu Hasaranga.

Rahul Tewatia (2 off 3) wasn't able to bring his heroics tonight. But Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan did the job as they finished this innings with some delightful shots. They crunched 34-runs from the last two overs as they finished on 168/5 in their allotted 20 overs.

Hardik Pandya played an entirely different innings as he found it difficult to time the ball properly. It was his 8th IPL fifty as he remained unbeaten on 62 off 47, including four boundaries and three sixes. Rashid Khan remained not out at 19 off just 6 balls with two sixes and a boundary in it.

For RCB, it was Glenn Maxwell who bowled a great spell of 4-1-28-1. Josh Hazlewood made quite a comeback after his previous match beatings as he ended up picking up two wickets with an economy rate of 9.80 in his four overs. Wanindu Hasaranga picked a big wicket of David Miller. But RCB missed the services of Harshal Patel due to a split webbing on his bowling hand. He bowled just a over before going off the field.

Arya- It was a par score from the Gujarat Titans and it was largely possible due to some late blitz from skipper Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan. RCB needed a good start desperately and it was provided today by Virat Kohli who came into the match on the back of a horrendous run in the tournament. He came out all guns blazing and started taking on the Gujarat Titans bowlers head-on. It was a great counter-attacking knock which actually gave Faf du Plessis some time to get going.

Kohli got a life when he was dropped at deep backward square leg by Rashid Khan and from there on it was a very sensible knock from the former skipper. He was batting with some much intent yet without taking too many risks. Du Plessis also started to up the ante and played some brilliant shots. For the first time in the tournament, RCB openers managed to rack up a century partnership. A partnership of 115 runs for the opening wicket made sure that the platform was set for the run-chase.

The RCB skipper was eventually dismissed after making 44 of 38 deliveries and it was magician Rashid Khan who provided the much-needed wicket. Kohli continue the good work and then smashed Rashid Khan for a straight six before perishing in the very next delivery. He came dancing down the track and missed the googly and it was an easy stumping for Matthew Wade behind the stumps.

It wasn’t the easiest of situations for RCB as there could have been a twist in the tale had they lost a few more wickets. However, Glenn Maxwell had other ideas and put GT’s ambition to rest as he slammed a 18 balls unbeaten 40 to take their side over the finishing line. It oozed class and some of his shots were something which only Maxwell can execute.

Glenn Maxwell: "I wanted to be positive from the get go. It didn't matter if I get out on the first ball. If I was hanging in there by playing some dot balls then it would have been giving opportunity for them to comeback in the game. I didn't hear the sound of it hitting the stumps but though that it would be close. Ahh!! No Wadey didn't say much about it. But I am happy finishing the game. Yeah, it was nice feeling to take that catch. Nothing much, I just dives to my right and stuck my right hand to it. It just sticks in there and there yo go talking about it. Just need to watch the Delhi and Mumbai game (haha). Will go to some golf course and enjoy my time. We have done our bit now and all on the big game (DC vs MI). Yeah, I am getting older you know (haha)."
Hardik Pandya | Gujarat Titans Captain: "Yeah, I felt it is just about par score. We did get 50-60 runs in the last five overs. It was stopping and coming a bit but we though the score was enough. The wicket was holding a bit and thought of keeping him for the last overs. We wanted to give others opportunity but some fielding lapses and Maxi coming in the end doing what he does took the game away. For us this game is about learning. We were quite good tonight. I am not sure where Saha is fit or not. In the mid innings he said that he is not feeling well. I am happy with my performances tonight. We were in it to be honest, when we took  a couple of wickets before Maxi played a blinder."
Arya- What an emphatic victory for the Royal Challengers Bangalore as they romp past Gujarat Titans by 8 wickets and with 8 deliveries to spare. It was an exceptional knock from Virat Kohli up front and all of India will be relieved to see him back among the runs. After the dismissal of Faf du Plessis and Kohli, it was Glenn Maxwell who played a masterclass, smashing an unbeaten 40 of just 18 deliveries to take RCB over the finishing line. However, this only keeps RCB's hopes alive in the tournament. They can only make it to the playoffs if Mumbai Indians beats Delhi Capitals in their last league game.
Akshaya: This will keep RCB alive but eliminates PBKS and SRH!
18.4 L Ferguson to G Maxwell
4 That's the end of the game and RCB are still in with a chance to qualify for the playoffs. A quick back of a length delivery on this occasion. Maxwell goes for the pull and ends up getting a top edge which flies over Matthew Wade and off to the boundary ropes.
18.3 L Ferguson to G Maxwell
4 How good is that from Glenn Maxwell. Continues on the extra ordinary performance. A shortish length delivery from Ferguson on that occasion. Maxwell runs it away from the face of the bat, more of an upper cut and it goes over short third man for a boundary.
18.2 L Ferguson to G Maxwell
0 Back of a length delivery on this occasion. On the stumps, Maxwell backs away and tries to carve that away over point but doesn't make any contact.
18.1 L Ferguson to G Maxwell
4 That has been punished with disdain. In the slot slower delivery a tad outside off. Back of the hand slower one and Maxwell stays upright and smashes this back over the bowler's head for a one bounce boundary. Maxwell has played a blinder here. 32 of just 15 and he is making it look ridiculously easy.

17.6 Y Dayal to G Maxwell
1 Slower back of a length delivery again. Around off-stump channel and Maxwell pulls it away off the frontfoot down the deep square leg region for a single.
17.5 Y Dayal to D Karthik
1 Slower back of a length delivery a tad outside off. Dinesh Karthik waits for it and then carves it away down the deep cover region for a single.
17.4 Y Dayal to G Maxwell
1 On the stumps. A low full toss on this occasion and Maxwell works it away down the leg side for a single. Just 13 required of 14. Should be a cakewalk from here on.
17.3 Y Dayal to G Maxwell
4 That has been slammed away down the deep extra cover region for a boundary. A slower delivery on the surface well outside off. Ample width on offer, Maxwell clears his front leg and smashes this well in front of point and it races down the boundary ropes.
