That's it for today folks, Delhi have finally managed to win 2 games in a row and it couldn't have come at a better time for them. This is Anirudh, signing off with my co-commentators Ayan and Akshaya as we bid adieu! Good night and we will see you on the next one!
Shardul Thakur | Man of the Match: "It was a good performance and I like to deliver in crunch times, the last two games have been important for us and I feel happy when I rise to the occasion. The 6th over was a big over when we got two wickets, they were cruising and the pacers were going for runs, the timing of the two wickets was crucial as the game slowed down after that. The game plan was very different in both halves, in the first one we were trying to bowl in good areas, but in the second half, there was a lot of dew. We took a lot of wickets in the first 10-12 overs, and Punjab didn't have much left in the end. I've been batting well, I try to score some runs every time and I hope to keep that going."
Rishabh Pant | Delhi Capitals Captain: "Playing throughout the tournament we have winning 1, losing 1, we wanted to change that and we did. Change of pace was good from Liam, can't get hard on Warnie, he has been fantastic. We didn't want to give a massive over to Kuldeep, and we went that way. The thought process was to take it deep, the spinners were bowling well, the wicket was slow and the same pattern was there in both innings. Mostly the game plan is going to be the same but we don't know what will be the wicket like at Wankhede. It's still 50-50 for Prithvi Shaw."
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony.
Shardul Thakur is the Player of the Match for his figures of 4-0-36-4.
Mitchell Marsh: "Yes, obviously it's a great win. Don't judge a pitch before both teams bat on it. Honestly, we left a few runs out there, but our spinners bowled well and we got the win. The aim was to maximize the powerplay before the spinners take over. I think we started well with Sarfaraz doing well. We would have wanted to carry on but we lost wickets at clusters. Stop-start batting performance from us. I have been practicing over the last 18 months how to do well and we have done well today. We did a terrific job with the ball, in the middle phase, we lost wickets at regular intervals. It's our first back-to-back win, if we win our final game then we are through to the playoffs. I think we can do it. We have had a stop-start tournament on the field and off the field. So, hope to get the win in the next game and qualify for the playoffs."
Mayank Agarwal | Punjab Kings Captain: "Well, obviously we didn't bat well. Especially between 5 and 10 we lost too many wickets. Well, I thought 160 was chaseable but too many wickets fell at the wrong time and there we lost the match. Obviously, we need to play well in the next game and win it. We need to now focus on what left in your hands rather than what happened tonight. A crucial game for us and we need to win. Obviously, this is a game to forget. We need to bat well but we didn't do it tonight. Obviously, we need to put together as a group and give our best in the last game."
WHAT A GAME! A BRILLIANT BRILLIANT VICTORY FOR DELHI CAITALS, AS THEY DEFEAT PUNJAB KINGS BY 17 RUNS! A proper edge of the seat thriller between these two exciting teams! And Delhi Capitals now go 4th in the points table and into the playoffs spot ahead on run-rate! A beautiful turn around by a team who was struggling earlier in the season!

The action today didn't take a lot of time to start, as Liam Livingstone dismissed David Warner on the first delivery of the match! However, Sarfaraz Khan then produced one of his gems as he smacked the bowlers lift, right and centre racing away to the score of 32 runs from 16 balls. Arshdeep Singh then dismissed his countryman in the 5th over of the power play and could have had 2 in 2 but a faulty no ball revived Lalit Yadav!

The pressure was still on as the Punjab bowlers kept bowling tight lines, managing to restrict Delhi to 107/4 in 11 overs. Mitchell Marsh was the star of the night for them with the bat, as he anchored his way to a 48 ball 63 and kept Delhi in the hunt when wickets were falling around him. Liam Livingstone and Arshdeep were the pick of the bowlers as they picked up 3 wickets each and left Delhi with a disappointing score of 159/7, when at point it was looking to cross the 180 run-mark.

A 160 run target is always a tricky one for the chasing side, and with the way Delhi Capitals bowled today it was made a far-fetched dream. Jonny Bairstow picked up where he left off against Mumbai, and raced away to a score of 28 runs in 15 balls. In the 4th over, Anrich Nortje finally got hold of his tormentor and that's where the collapse began.

Lord Thakur with the ball in hand, once again summoned his wicket taking power and dismissed both Shikhar Dhawan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa in the last over of the power play but thanks to Bairstow's knock, Punjab Kings were still ahead in the game.

Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel then entered the fray. Picking up 2 wickets each and with the economy under 5, Punjab batters were no match for them today. One absolute magical ball by Kuldeep Yadav bamboozled Liam Livingstone as he was left stranded in the middle while Rishabh Pant took the bails off.

With Punjab reeling at 82/7 at the end of the 13th over, Jitesh Sharma took matters into his own hands and single handedly forced Punjab's way back in the game. Aptly supported by Rahul Chahar, Jitesh ended up scoring 44 runs in 34 balls and his wicket in the 18th over signaled defeat for Punjab. Delhi Capitals held onto their nerves and completed a victory to almost knock Punjab Kings out of the Playoffs race.

Kudos to Punjab though for not accepting defeat up until the last ball of this game, an excellent game of cricket from both sides and a BIG VICTORY FOR DELHI CAPITALS!

Ayan: Would you believe it? David Warner drops a dolly and denies Thakur a 5-for here. It won't cost them the game. But that should have been taken.
19.4 S Thakur to A Singh
1 DROPPED!!! Lord Shardul has been denied of a fifer here!! Fuller length delivery on the fourth stump line. Arshdeep on the front foot swings wildly and finds the bottom half of the bat. Very high in the air and David Warner drops a sitter down at long on. Single taken.
