Milestone
That brings us to the end of our coverage for today's game. Join us again tomorrow. Till then it's good night and goodbye from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty), my fellow commentators Ayan Chatterjee and Akshaya Krishna Polya along with our statistician/scorer Paras Yadav.
Jonny Bairstow, Man of the Match- I gave a look at a couple. One of those days, couple of those that come off and you get on a roll. Look Hazlewood is a quality bowler. Sometimes you just to get them off their lengths. Not allow them to bowl one length consistently. Not necessarily. From the end he was bowling, the line he was bowling was off stump and generally you want to play on the offside. Well look I think it's a completely different commodity playing for England and playing here. Got a job to do for England in the middle. Stats suggest that I enjoy opening the batting in IPL. Very good bats.
Mayank Agarwal, Punjab Kings skipper- Definitely close to a perfect game. The wicket was holding a bit but the way Bairstow and Livi batted was exceptional. We haven't changed a lot. We have to adaptable and flexible which we have been which is great. It can get a little tough for the captain to do that. We can't be too defensive with the ball. The boundaries are't long enough for the batters these days. We have t be smart. Have to be aggressive. Atleast that is what I keep telling. two [points is the most crucial thing. It doesn't matter whether I am batting until we are winning. Arshdeep is a very energetic person and a very confident guy. He stays stress-free. He is a leader in the team/ Takes up the responsibility and even talks with bowlers. I am pretty sure he (Anil Kumble) is smiling.
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony.

Arya- Royal Challengers Bangalore were up with a tall ask chasing a massive target of 210 runs. To have any chance in the run chase, the opening duo of Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli needed to get them off to a flyer. For a change, Virat Kohli got off to a brisk start and looked in good touch. He struck two fours of Arshdeep Singh in his first over and then followed it up with a six of Harpreet Brar. However he again found a way to get out of Kagisbo Rabda as he gloved an attempted pull onto his thigh pad and it lobbed up in the air and straight down the throat of the short fine leg fielder.

Faf du Plessis looked a bit scratchy in the shots he played and was eventually dismissed by Rishi Dhawan on 10. The pressure was well and truly on RCB. Mahipal Lomror came out in the middle and started off with a beautiful six but fell the very next delivery in the same over of Rishi Dhawan. From there on, it was a great stand between Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell which got RCB back into the game. Maxwell struck some lusty blows and was in his innovative best.

Rajat Patidar played the perfect foil to Maxwell and struck a four and a couple of sixes during his knock of 26 of 21 deliveries before falling to Rahul Chahar. Glenn Maxwell was dismissed the very next over of Harpreet Brar and from there on, only a DK special could have saved RCB from the blushes. The Punjab bowlers bowled brilliantly against DK and minimised the angles he loves playing with. He was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh in his 3rd over and it was bound to be the final nail in the coffin for RCB.

While RCB knew they had lost the game but they had to make sure that they didn’t lose by a huge margin which would have further dented their already poor net run rate. The lower order found some boundaries towards rhe final overs and only managed to take RCB to a score of 155 in the allotted 20 overs. Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers for Punjab Kings bagging three while Rishi Dhawan and Rahul Chahar chipped in with a couple.

Earlier in the day it was an onslaught from Jonny Bairstow which got Punjab off to a flying start after Faf du Plessis won the toss and put them in. He raced off to a 21 balls half-century and Punjab went onto score 83 in the powerplay. However it was some good bowling in the middle overs which got RCB back in the game. Wanindu Hasaranga was quite exceptional yet again and bagged two important wickets. After the dismissal of Bairstow's wicket there was a lull in the scoring rate but Livingstone was there till the end to take them over the 200 mark. Livingstone continued his dream run and was eventually dismissed in the final over after making 70 of just 42 deliveries which included 5 fours and 4 sixes.

Liam Livingstone: "I have got a tight calf. Just a precaution to take a rest and put ice on. This is how we play cricket. I thought Jonny was outstanding and set it up for me to finish it off. He set up the batting for us to get to a big total. It was a beautiful track and we were 10-15 runs short, but our bowlers were brilliant. Jonny was great, as he took the game and took the best bowler to the cleaners. He set it up. This is what we wanted to play. This is how I want to play. Want to more contribute to the team and nice to score runs. It's about scoring runs and I like to bat up the order and also to finish matches I work hard and take my pride in performing even at the death. I am willing to do what the captain asks me to do and do anything for the team. Hope we continue on this winning run."
Faf du Plessis | Royal Challengers Bangalore Captain: "Yeah, it was a good score. Obviously, Jonny came and thrashed us. I think 200 was a par total. I mean we could have chased it but with the couple of wickets falling very early we were always behind it. Especially me and Virat bang, bang. He is seeing the lighter side of it but I am sure that he is trying hard to score to be back amongst the runs. He is feeling good at the moment and the big score is round the corner. We need to play well in our last game and we need to look forward always. I mean this game is over and we can't think with the game behind us. Just one more net practice will not to any good. Because we have been practicing from years and now we need to perform on the day. We need to be positive and have to do what's in our hands."
Arya- A comprehensive victory for the Punjab Kings in the end by 54 runs and they keep their hopes alive in the tournament. It was a brilliant bowling effort by the Punjab bowlers. Only five bowlers were used and they managed to restrict RCB to just 155 in pursuit of a target of 210 runs. The target was always going to be a tall ask for RCB and in the end the Punjab Kings bowlers was just too good for RCB.

1 The last ball of the match coming up. Siraj only manages to bunt that good-length delivery on the stumps down the ground for a single.
19.5 A Singh to M Siraj
0 Swing and a miss. Short of a length delivery this time, Siraj goes for the pull but doesn't make any contact.
19.4 A Singh to J Hazlewood
1 Fractionally fuller on middle and Hazlewood squirts it away down the short fine leg region from the inside edge and takes a single.
19.3 A Singh to J Hazlewood
4 Hazlewood will get a boundary. Slower delivery by Arshdeep Singh on this occasion. Was in the slot, a knuckle ball. Didn't quite get that right Arshdeep. Hazlewood swings across the line and gets it from the inside half of the bat down the vacant deep midwicket region and finds the boundary.
19.2 A Singh to M Siraj
1 Tha has been thrashed away down the deep cover region for a single, Again great work by Harpreet Brar in the deep. Might just check that one. Slower fuller-length delivery a shade outside and Siraj thrashes this away for a single. Harpreet Brar takes it on the body.
19.1 A Singh to J Hazlewood
1 Brilliant yorker on the stumps. Hazlewood manages to dig that out down the mid-off region for a single.
