Milestone
So that is it from our live coverage. England takes the 1-0 lead after winning the 1st T20I by 9 wickets and 42 balls to spare. We hope you've loved every bit of our coverage. It's time to bid adieu from Arijit Kundu, co-commentator Akshaya Krishna Polya, and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Do tune here for all other live actions. Goodbye, TA-TA!!
Sarah Glenn (Player of the Match): "The bowlers did really well initially and the batters were terrific as well. Obviously, she(Sophie Ecclestone) is a crucial one for us in our team. It was good to bowl along with her. The conditions were a bit different actually. But I did well in our game. The openers, Danny and Sophia were brilliant and later Alice joined her to finish things smoothly, which was really good actually. Thank you."
Amy Jones (Winning Captain): "Yeah, it was a dominating performance. Happy to be winning in the absence of some main players. The first game of the series, and it is important to start on a winning note.

I am very quiet in every aspect of life, to be honest (chuckles around). At the mid-innings, we thought that we did a good job keeping the score well below par. The pitch was quite skiddy. We planned to play straight but luck was also with us.

We have a great top three. Wyatt, Dunkley and Capsey were all good. We will try to keep the winning momentum going."
Harmanpreet Kaur (Losing Captain): "I think at the end, we didn't get enough runs. The conditions weren't good enough to bat. But we got a good start. We failed to pounce on that. Overall, I am happy with our performance. Not a complete one, but yeah, we will be fairly happy. Given the conditions, it was really difficult to bat on.

It was an ordinary effort in the field. But, we didn't have many to defend. We also lost a bowler due to injury. So, we were a bowler short. The conditions weren't suitable for us. We will make a strong comeback in the next game."
So a plethora of sloppy fielding made things easier for the home side to clinch a comprehensive victory in the 1st T20I against India which saw 9 wickets and 42 balls in hand. It was Sophia Dunkley and Danny Wyatt with the opening stints for England and Renuka Singh Thakur started off with the cork for India Women. She looked really good and got to extract movements in the air but just didn't have the luck on her side.

Dunkley was scratchy at the start, survived off a no-ball bowled by Thakur, and was also dropped a couple of times. She went on to make full use of her fortune and crafted a beautiful half-century that lead the path towards victory for England.

It was just Danny Wyatt who got dismissed later and courtesy of wicketkeeper batter, Richa Ghosh who did a stunner to stump out the dangerous opener. Alice Capsey joined Dunkley in the middle and made sure to glue an unbreakable partnership that would see England cross the finishing lines.

England made sure to clinch past the target with 7 overs in hand.

Earlier in the game, England Women had won the toss and opted to field first. They got rid of Smriti Mandhana in quick time and then Shafali Verma too went back to the pavilion. At one stage, India were 47-2 after 6.4 overs. The middle order failed to convert their 10s and 20s to a big score and got dismissed on regular succession.

Richa Ghosh and Harmanpreet Kaur looked attacking in the middle but just when they were looking to switch the gear, Freya Davies and Sarah Glenn sent them back to the pavilion respectively. Sarah Glenn was the weaker in chief for the home side and was well-supported by her fellow mates.

Deepti Sharma single-handedly steered the run past the 130 mark in the end with some fancy boundaries. She was unbridled on 29 of 24 deliveries. Sarah Glenn finished with her best figures in T20I cricket which saw 4-0-23-4.

In the end, it was a smooth chase for Amy Jones and her girls. England takes the 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series with Sarah Glenn as the probably player of the match.

4 FOURRRR!!! A fitting end to the chase as Dunkley finishes it off with a boundary. A low full toss down the leg side. Dunkley sits down on knee and helps it on its way for a boundary. There is no one in the deep to stop as it goes through the long leg fence for a boundary. England win by nine wickets.
A third umpire review for a runout. Well, Capsey has made the ground comfortably and therefore its a notout.
12.5 Thakur to S Dunkley
2 Fuller again and outside the off. Dunkley on the front foot drives it to the right of the fielder at short extra covers for a couple. A direct hit at the bowler's end and they have gone upstairs. Replay says that it is not out as the batter has made it.
Arijit: Gotta admit that the fielding has out India Women down today. England have made full use of it!!
