Auckland had last won the Ford Trophy in the year 2016. They have been consistent throughout this tournament and deserved to be crowned the Champions. That's it from us. Hope you enjoyed the coverage. This is me Ovaise signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Ajay Singh, Ninaad and Scorer/Analyst Zeeshan.
Robert O'Donnell, Auckland Aces skipper: "We have been pretty lucky to have been playing a fair amount of cricket over the past few weeks. Different people have stepped up and won us games. We didn't have a great start in the T20 competition but we came back well and very nice to get this result today. Playing half of our games at Eden Park benefitted us. Our bowling attack has been incredible. We keep trying to putting on a good show for the people. I want to appreciate the Stags' boys, they have been great throughout as well."
Tom Bruce, Central Stags skipper: "Their bowlers did well and utilized the conditions well. We didn't play our A-game today. Full credit to Robbie and his boys, they played well and deserved to win. It was a pretty tough day for cricket all around regarding the conditions. The guys are obviously trying to improve and have performed well throughout the season, just couldn't end it well today."

Central districts got off to a poor start with the bat, the opening batters were dismissed very early in the innings. Ross Taylor struggled to get going and was dismissed by Solia on 5, CD were 44-3 when Skipper Bruce walked in.

Schmulian and Bruce stitched up a brilliant partnership and just when things started to look good they lost Schmulian on 44 to a fast a quick delivery from Ferguson. Lockie was the pick of the bowlers for Auckland and he ended with Figues of 10-4-32. Tom Bruce was the top scorer for Central District with 63, Milne and Bracewell making a contribution of 21 each. Central District crawled their way pat 200 before getting all out on 213.

Central district managed to get Guptil out for 23 but Worker showed the purple patch he was in and kept chipping away with runs. He was joined by Glenn Phillips and the pair took the team past the 50 mark, Phillips was dismissed by a peach from Seth Rance on 23 when the score was 60.

Mark Chapman walked in and played a very aggressive knock of 92 racing past Working who ended up with 65 saw the team to victory. Chapman was hitting the ball to all parts of the ground and looked unstoppable.  Geroge Worker has been tremendous for them throughout this tournament is one of the main reason behind their success. The Central District bowlers toiled hard but were not successful in getting wickets. Milne got the ball to swing and also got Chapman's wicket of no-ball, but the pair was able to negate the threat and reached to a comfortable victory at the end.

Auckland had last won the Ford Trophy in the year 2016, and this year they were very consistent throughout this tournament, putting up some massive scores on the board and they have deservedly won the finals today. Auckland won the finals by 8 wickets and will be crowned champions of the 2022 Ford Trophy.
