For now, the T20 Blast has ended! Glue on to our websites for matches across the globe. For now, this is your guy, AkshayaKrishna Polya signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Nikhil Kalla who alongside our scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma brought you all the live-action from this thrilling finale. We will meet in the next game. Until then, it's cheers!!
The trophy has been handed over to the winning skipper, James Vince. He alongside his teammates starts the celebration and it will continue for a long time. This was a cracking game and a cracking tournament to be part of! How fitting is that this went down to the wire as we can shout Long live the Finals Day!
Player of the tournament and Hampshire Captain-: JAMES VINCE: "This was a great game of cricket. To finally get over the line in such a manner is one great effort from all the lads. Contributions right till the end from the 11 that played today. The score was below par but the team believed and we seemed to have found a way to get over the line in these games. We had managed to defend small totals on a couple of occasions in this edition. The pitch played its part too as it was deteriorating a little. The Fight that these guys have shown and the never say die attitude has come through again. Just going to enjoy tonight with the lads as the night will be a long one. Feel like the lads deserved it this year."
Player of the Final-: Ben McDermott: "That second-last ball, we were nearly in the Hollies and had to come back. A couple of sets of fireworks were nice being on the winning side. To get 150 on the board was a good total in the end. Thought it was below-par at first but kept taking wickets to keep us in it. We played a bit different as the track was tired and the ball was not getting on the bat that well. Vincey has been brilliant and he has taken a lot of pressure off me with his batting."

Dane Vilas, Lancashire Captain-: "Real tough game, down to the wire. We must give credit to the Hawks as they performed amazingly under pressure and we couldn't get over the line. The wicket did change but we thought we could chase that down but we couldn't and we are gutted for that. On a day like this anything can happen, expect the unexpected. Great vibes all along the squad but everybody is disappointed as we have lost a final that we should've won."

Nathan Ellis-: "I was conflicted, didn't know whether to stick to what was working or get all out like a pace battery. But Vince got everyone together, and once I'd made my mind up, I stuck to it and this paid off. With the tail, I always wanted to be able to defend six or seven. I was aware I'd bowled a lot of slower balls in the semi and I can pull this out again today bowling the same sort of deliveries and luckily it worked well for me."

NIKHIL: Hampshire after losing their first four games has won the trophy here... this is a roller coaster of emotions.
NIKHIL: I am still searching for my soul here AkshayKrishna, WOW, What a final this was... it had everything you could put into your thoughts while dreaming. The start by the Reds of Lancashire then the pullback along with the NO-ball drama right at the end, it has been absolutely amazing. A deserving final to a tournament that never fails to excite the neutrals and give heart -attack moments to the fans of the clubs competing.
Akshaya: Still searching for my breath! Hang on! Now, I have to get done by this!!!!

It was a game that can be called a final! Yes, definitely! Chasing the target of 153 to win, Lancashire thought that they had a hand in the trophy! But, destiny had already written its fate on whom to win this.

The chase started with some events in the very first over delivered by Chris Wood. It had a boundary, a six, and a no-ball as well. In the third ball, Philip Salt holed out at backward square leg. Then Keaton Jennings and Steven Croft played well as the duo scored runs quickly throughout the field restrictions.

After the 60-run second-wicket partnership no one would have given a chance to the Hampshire side but the introduction of Liam Dawson and James Fuller in the middle overs slightly turned the match's balance.

Croft, Jennings, and Dane Vilas all got starts but no one took the responsibility of taking it to the end. Luke Wells played well and almost was the lone warrior as the match was going down the wire. There was pressure on both sides but it was all about who was crumbling down to the pressure first.

Tim David had no big impact on the game as he was taken care of by Fuller. Slowly the match was going to the last ball, and it reached to a stage where Lancashire needed 30 off the last three and 23 off 12 as well.

Wells smashed a six and a four in the 19th over off Chris Wood and the game came down to 11 off the last 7! But, the twist in the game came when Vince hit the bulls eye at the bowler's end as Wells found himself short of his crease by a few millimeters.

With 11 needing off last over bowled by Nathan Ellis, Luke Wood and Tom Hartley gathered 4-runs from four balls with the expense of the former via a run-out. Now, the equation was simple, 7 from two, and a couple came in the fifth delivery to push the Lancashire to get five runs off the ultimate delivery.

Ellis and Hampshire were off straightaway celebrating their third title as he got through Richard Gleeson's defenses, but the twist came there. The umpire recalled the players from their celebrations as everyone got to know that Ellis had overstepped. Free-hit, need three from one!! Anything could have happened. but Ellis kept his nerve and conceded just a bye off the last ball, leaving Lancashire to cry out in agony. This is Hampshire's third Blast title!

Stats-wise, Croft (36 off 25), Wells (27 off 24), Jennings (24 off 20), and Vilas (23 off 21) were the key contributors for Lancashire as they ended up at 151/8! For Hampshire, Dawson (4-0-23-2), Fuller (3-019-2), were the pick of the bowlers.

Earlier, Hampshire on the bank of a magnificent half-century from Ben McDermott (62 off 36) and some final blows from Ross Whiteley (22 off 20) and Chris Wood (20* off 17) reached to a respectable total of 152-8 in their allocated 20 overs.

Most of the Hampshire batters bowed down to an impressive spell from Matt Parkinson (4-0-26-4). Luke Wood supported him with a two wicket spell.
Akshaya: We have seen some cracking games in the Vitality Blast and this will be right up there at the top.

Hampshire wins the championship by the barest of margins. They have beaten Lancashire by just 1 run!!

They can hold their head high now!
Akshaya: I have no words guys! That was some match! We have seen an incredible final here in the history of this competition. I will say that there was no winner at the end of it, to be honest. Cricket is the winner!

Who would have thought when James Vince opted to have a bat on the used surface at Edgbaston that this will go down to the last ball. Okay, at least at the halfway mark! Anyone would have guessed that this would be the end?

Never say it's over, until the last ball. That's what cricket teaches us! That's why we love the game and live it as well!

Akshaya: BOY O BOY!!!!!!!!! What a final we have had! They can celebrate now! Ellis can breathe a sigh of relief, Vince can breathe and everyone in yellow can breathe! This was an unbelievable finale!

1b Slower delivery over the top of the off-stump and they run a single here but the trophy will be lifted by JAMES VINCE AS HAMPSHIRE HAS BROUGHT THIS BACK FROM THE JAWS OF DEFEAT HERE...
Akshaya: More dramas! That is a no ball! What is happening out here at Edgbaston? Are you serious man! Hampshire were celebrating as they have won the trophy. This is unbelievable. Hampshire players have their hearts in their mouths. That no ball means two runs added alongside the free hit.

I am out of words. Three runs from the last ball. Come on!! Get on with it. Hampshire, you need to bowl the last ball.
19.6 N Ellis to R Gleeson
NB OUT!!! OH JEEZ... WHAT ON EARTH ELLIS HAS CLEAN BOWLED GLEESON HERE BUT IT'S A NO-BALL. I haven't seen anything like this in my entire life. Not even the world cup finals... This is crazy crazyyyyyy stuff here. I can not believe it even at this point this is beyond imagination.
There are a lots of chopping and changing on the field. If the match is tied then the batting side wins.
NIKHIL: Can Gleeson hit the shot of his life so far... This is not for weak-hearted individuals. This Final has been more exciting than any other thing on offer at this point...
19.5 N Ellis to R Gleeson
2 Fuller delivery in the middle and he has pushed this for a couple towards long-on here.
