Deepak| 1.53 AM IST| So, We are Done here with the ESSEX winning the game easily by 21 runs. Visitors just had to chase 162 against the Hosts, but unable to chase it down and thumped by Hosts by 21 runs.



When Middlesex opener Eskinazi  and  Holden came out to chase down 162 runs, started their chase on a bad notes as Middlesex lost three wicket on a quick succession on just 9 runs on the board . Holden scored (3 of 6 balls), Cracknell and Simpson did not even opened  their account and gone for Duck.
Davies came to bat at no.6 and played some beautiful shots with Eskinazi, and added 86 runs partnership between them, but unluckily   Eskinazi departs at (43 of 38 balls) and could not completes his fifty and visitors were 95 for 4 in 14.4 overs, Green comes and joins Davies, But he could not settle in the middle and departs on the last ball of 15th over. The very next over Davies (41 of 42 balls) joins the dug out. Visitors lost control of the game and lost 4 wicket of just 6 runs. Behrendorff smashed three sixes in 19th over of D Sams and played a short cameo for his team but it did not helped his team. Visitors scored 140-8 in 20 overs and left by a margin of 21 runs.



On the other hand Sam Cook was the pick of the bowlers for Essex he took 3 wickets and gave away 23 runs in 4 overs. Beard and Harmer shared 2 wicket each, where Sams added 1 wicket in his account.




Earlier in the first inning Essex had a poor start Khushi and Rossington got out on the first and fifth over respectively. Pepper and Lawrence handled the innings pretty well after getting to a poor start, but pepper could not support Lawrence for long and Walallawita made his victim on the second ball of his first over. Shortly after Pepper’s dismissal, Essex’s fourth wicket fell in the form of Walter and the Essex team was completely on the back foot. Westley joined Lawrence in the middle, they built a partnership of 85 runs for the 5th wicket. Wright was looking good, he scored 51 of 35 balls and got dismissed after completing his fifty. Westley also played an incredible half-century innings, he scored 50 off 41 and got stumped in the process of hitting a six. The wickets started tumbling down for Essex from then on. But in the end, Essex made a respectable total on the board 161/6.



On the other hand, Green was the pick of the bowlers for Middlesex  he took 3 wickets and gave away 16 runs in his 3 overs. Behrendorff, Greatwood and Walallawita took a wicket each.
