That's it that's the game for the home side as they beat the Middlesex by a comfortable margin of 61 runs. Absolute cracker of a bowling performance from the Essex bowlers as they bundled out the opposition on the score of 125 with 10 balls to spare. For now, they will move the number three position on the points table with 9 points to their tally.

Chasing 187 on a good batting surface the Middlesex openers haven't had the greatest of starts as they were dismissed cheaply. As the skipper, Eskinazi was sent back on the score of 4 and Holden on only 1 off 2 balls. Then Simpson took the charge on the opposition but he failed to continue that for long as he was dismissed on the score of 20 off 9 balls.

Cracknell in at number 3 kept the scoreboard ticking but while trying to accelerate he lost his wicket on the score of 28. In the middle overs, spinners tighten the game for the home side as they put on the breaks on the Middlesex innings. Davies and Hollman looked a bit rusty in front of the spinners as they failed to bring out the big shots and lost the wickets at a crucial time. And the rest of the tail couldn't make any difference with the bat.

Matt Critchley was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 3 wickets in his 4 overs spell. Sam Cook was also impressive in this game as he picked up 3 wickets at a very low economy. Harmer, Allison, and Westley also picked up a wicket each. So all and all it was a great effort from the Essex side to pull off a win here at Chelmsford.
18.2 B Allison to J Behrendorff
W WICKET! It's all over! Off stump yorker from Allison. Behrendorff digs it as the ball stays down near the stumps. Walallawita is interested in a single and gets away from the non striker's end. Allison is quicker than the non striker as he picks up the ball and hits the striker's end stumps to finish the proceedings! Essex win by 61 runs!
18.1 B Allison to J Behrendorff
0 Over the wicket. Slower half volley on the fifth stump line. Swings the bat hard to clear long on but misses.

17.4 Cook to M Andersson
W WICKET! Brilliantly taken by the skipper near cow corner. Slightly back of a length leg cutter at 63.9mph, pitched on middle and leg. Andersson goes for the pull backing away in the leg side but fails to middle it and mistimes the stroke. Harmer has placed himself at long on and runs to his right, puts in a dive and completes the catch!
17.3 Cook to M Andersson
4 FOUR! Can Andersson pull off the unthinkable here? Fuller delivery on the off stump. Andersson is on the front foot and chips this off the middle of the bat. Excellent swing of the bat! Straight down the ground beating long off. One bounce and over the rope.
17.2 Cook to T Walallawita
1lb Gets off strike with a leg bye. Good length on the leg stump, tries to flick but misses as the ball hits high on the pad and rolls in the leg side.
