Milestone
That's the end of our coverage for this game. Do join us tomorrow for more cricketing action. This is me, Akshay Bhide, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Tugral Azmi and our scorer Suresh Kumar. Tata. Bye-bye and do take very good care of yourself.
Akshay: What an end to this low-scoring game. There were ebbs and flows throughout the match and Hampshire Hawks manage to hold their nerves, in the end, to win the game by nine runs. Glamorgan did a fine job in the first half of the match but faltered in the second half as they lose their fifth game in this year’s Vitality T20 Blast.

With 135 to chase, Glamorgan didn’t have the best of the starts as they lost their skipper David Lloyd in the very first over. Colin Ingram walked in at three and played some beautiful strokes before departing on 16 in the fifth over. Kiran Carlson along with Sam Northeast started the recovery work. A double strike from Bradley Wheal in the 11th over dented Glamorgan’s progress.

Northeast was going strong from one end but lacked support from the other end. Mason Crane dismissed Chris Cooke and followed it by dismissing Northeast on 36 in the same over to bring Hampshire back in the game. Glamorgan kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Daniel Douthwaite hit some lusty blows in the end but it wasn’t enough as they were knocked over on 125, falling short by nine runs. Wheal for Hampshire picked up a fifer and Chris Wood also chipped in with three wickets as it helped them defend the total successfully.

Earlier, Glamorgan skipper David Lloyd won the toss and opted to bowl first. They had a very good start as they picked up two wickets inside the powerplay and restricted Hampshire to 32 at the end of the first six overs. It was a trickier surface to bat on and the Hampshire batters struggled to get going. Skipper James Vince along with Joe Weatherley resurrected the innings. Vince departed on 44 as the Glamorgan spinners bowled brilliantly in the middle phase.

Weatherley tried hard and stood tall from one end as he remained unbeaten on 46 to help his side post a competitive total on the board. Andrew Salter was brilliant for Glamorgan as he picked up two wickets and gave away only 18 runs in his four overs. Michael Hogan and Prem Sisodiya also chipped in with a wicket each as they restricted Hampshire to 134 which proved to be too much in the end as they lost the game by nine runs.

19.5 B Wheal to P Sisodiya
W WICKETT!!! Wheal picks up his 5th wicket of the day!! In the air and taken by Dawson. Fuller delivery a tad outside off. Sisodiya slices the ball in the air towards the cover. The fielder has a lot of ground to cover and manages to catch the ball just before the 30-yard circle. With this, Hampshire beat Glamorgan by Nine runs with a spare of one ball.
19.4 B Wheal to M Hogan
1 Yorker delivery on the middle stump line, Hogan flicks it towards the leg side for a single.
19.3 B Wheal to D Douthwaite
W WICKETT!!! Wheal cleans up Douthwaite with a Beauty!! Fuller delivery on the middle stump line. Douthwaite looks to loft it over the leg side but misses it on this ocassion and the ball disturbs the timbers after sneaking in the gap between bat and pad. Wheal is delighted with that one.
Akshay: Just what the doctor ordered for the hosts. The crowd is getting into the act now. 11 required from 4 now. Vince having a chat with his bowler.
19.2 B Wheal to D Douthwaite
4 FOURRR!!! Fuller and wide, Douthwaite makes room and lofts it over extra cover as the clears short cover and into the boundary, it goes. They need lots more in the last couple of deliveries.
19.1 B Wheal to D Douthwaite
2 Fuller delivery on the middle stump line. Douthwaite smashes it straight down the ground towards the long on and takes a couple of runs.

18.6 C Wood to J Harris
W WICKETT!!! That's up in the air and taken by the short cover. Good length delivery on the off stump line. Harris prods forward as he looks to pull it away but gets the leading edge. Weatherley is stationed at the short cover and takes a diving catch into his right.
18.5 C Wood to D Douthwaite
1 Yorker delivery on the middle stump line, Douthwaite prods forward as he flicks it nicely along the ground towards the deep for an easy single.
18.4 C Wood to D Douthwaite
0 Full toss delivery and wide of off, Douthwaite guides it towards the short third man fielder. Dot ball.
18.3 C Wood to D Douthwaite
2 Angling in down the leg stump line by Wood. Douthwaite shuffles across as he flicks it towards the leg side, wide of the long leg fielder, and takes a couple of runs.
