Milestone
That's it from Lynn Sanity involved Northants domination. I am AkshayaKrishna Polya signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Nikhil Kalla who alongside our scorer/analyst Chandan Kumar brought you all the live actions from this high-scoring encounter. We will meet in the next game. Until then, it's cheers..!
Akshaya: This was some performance from the home team. Chris Lynn set this game up with a breath-taking hundred. Joshua Cobb with his five wickets haul after his supporting fifty with the bat. Worcestershire were always behind the eight-ball in this game. In the end, Northamptonshire made light work of the defense as they bundle out Worcestershire for just 147 in 16.4 overs. Northants defeats their opposition by a huge margin of 73 runs to boost their net run rate as well.

Earlier, Northamptonshire skipper, Joshua Cobb won the toss and decided to bat first. But they didn't have the greatest of starts as they lost Ben Curran (1 off 2) very early in the piece. After this wicket, the Rapids didn't had anything to celebrate at. Lynn and Cobb smashed the visitors bowlers to all parts of the ground and added a match setting partnership of 115 runs for the second wicket. In the process both the batters got through their fifties.

Cobb (50 off 30, including 6-fours and 2-sixes) was taken care by Dwayne Bravo in the 11th over while the latter also accounted for the dismissal of Saif Zaib (27 off 20). Zaib did support the Australian as the duo added a partnership of 64 for the third wicket.

Lynn was at his absolute best as Northampton crowd saw what 'Lynn Sanity' is about! He smoked 8-fours and 9-cracking sixes in his unbeaten 133 off 57 deliveries. This was his second century this season. Lynn got perfect support from the other end as Jimmy Neesham (24* off 11) gave the final touches to the Northants innings with a flurry of boundaries. The duo added together an unbeaten stand of 39 runs for the fourth wicket, finishing 220/3 in their allotted 20 overs.

Apart from DJ Bravo no one looked like really plugging the scoring rate as the legend's figures read something like 4-0-15-2 on a day where the batting side had scored excess of 200.

Chasing this big target, Worcestershire needed someone to lift their side with an innings or two similar to what Lynn did for Northamptonshire. But it didn't happen as they lost wickets at regular intervals. They didn't had time to see what's the pitch is doing and payed the price for their poor bowling or should I say brutal batting from the home side.

Losing three top-order wickets in the powerplay didn't aid them either and it took 5.1 overs for one of the opener (Brett D'Oliveira) to get off the mark. D'Oliveira (22 off 14) did score a few runs but in the context of the game that was nowhere near to a handy innings.

Jack Haynes and Ed Barnard did stich a handy partnership but the daunting asking rate of above 11's doesn't allow them to score big. 49 run between the dup for the fifth wicket was the biggest one for them after being reduced to 53/4 in the 7th over.

Haynes (33 off 22) in trying to decrease the losing margin was holed out at long-off in the 13th over. The same over saw Cobb on a hattrick as well. The off-break bowler picked up wickets at a rapid rate to bamboozle the opponents.

Barnard (42 off 29) was the last man to go as he swept one down to the throat of short fine leg fielder, handing a five wicket haul to the Northants skipper. Before this, DJ Bravo did entertain the crowd with a cameo of 15 from 8 balls.

For Northamptonshire, Cobb picked up five wickets in 3.4 overs giving away just 25 runs. Tom Taylor was also excellent with the figures of 3-0-26-3. Neesham and Graeme While supported the main wicket takers with a wicket each.
