Milestone
That's it from this Blast fixture. I am AkshayaKrishna Polya signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ninaad Dixit who alongside our scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer brought you all the live actions from the fixture. We will meet in the next game. Until then, it's good night and goodbye!
AkshayaEarlier, it was Gloucestershire who won the toss and invited the hosts to bat first. Glamorgan were off to an explosive start as their openers David Lloyd and Sam Northeast scored freely with their exuberant stroke play. It was especially the former, who was striking them all over the park. It took a little over 10 overs for the visitors to break this excellent opening partnership. Northeast (24 off 24) was the first to go as Benny Howell cleaned him up in the 11th over and this was just the beginning of what was to come next.

Lloyd then went on to hit an enthralling fifty off just 31 balls and continued his good work even after the milestone for a while. Howell took a sharp catch off his own bowling to dismiss the well set Glamorgan skipper for a well made 68 off 43 deliveries, including 10-fours and a biggie.

The collapse started here and wickets were tumbled at regular intervals. There were no big partnerships after the first wicket 90-run stand. Glamorgan lost 8-wickets for 68-runs and were reduced from 90/0 to 158/8 at the end of their allotted 20 overs.

Gloucestershire used eight bowlers but only a few bowlers were among the wickets. Benny Howell, David Payne, and Glenn Phillips were the bowlers with two wickets against their name while Tom Smith and Ryan Higgins scalped a wicket each.

Akshaya: An inspiring bowling performance in the backend of the first innings followed by a dominating batting display from Gloucestershire sinks Glamorgan as they were defeated here at their home ground by five wickets with an over to spare.

The chase was delayed for a few minutes due to a small drizzle just before the start. But as soon as the pursuit to 159 resumed, as Glamorgan, Gloucestershire too started off in a stylish manner. Miles Hammond and James Bracey gave the team a solid start as the duo took the attack on the home side to pile on the runs in the first six overs making full use of the field restrictions.

In the seventh over which Daniel Douthwaite delivered, the visitors lost their first wicket at 58. Hammond (31 off 22) tried to go up over the covers by using his feets but holed out to deep covers fielder.

Ian Cockbain (10 off 7) was then taken care of by the left-arm orthodox Prem Sisodiya with a lovely caught and bowled.

With the score reading 71/2, Glenn Phillips joined hands with Bracey as both continued to pile on the work which was set up by Hammond early on. With the score moving to 100/2 the drizzle came back and halted the chase for a short while.

After another resumption, Bracey continued his good work at the office with a solid fifty. He alongside Phillips made sure that they were cruising to the target. 76-runs between them for the third wicket before the swashbuckling innings' from Phillips (40 off 27) was ended  by Daniel Douthwaite.

Douthwaite tried his best as he picked up two wickets in consecutive deliveries in the 17th over before Michael Hogan getting the prized scalp of Bracey for a well made 63 off 49 balls in the next over to make the chase which was fairly done and dusted a bit more interesting.

But with needing only 8 off 14 balls it was not a daunting task for the rest of the batters. Benny Howell (1 off 3) and Jack Taylor (7 off 5) took the team through the victory line without any further damage in the 19th over.

For the hosts, Daniel Douthwaite was impressive with his figures of 4-0-30-3 while his partners in crime Prem Sisodiya and Michael Hogan scalped a wicket each.

2 AND THAT'S IT. Gloucestershire win by five wickets and with an over remaining. Short delivery on the off and middle stump line. Taylor on the back foot top edges this one for a couple. He tried to heave at that one as it finds the outside edge. It falls in the no man's land and the deep covers fielder fumbles as well allowing the match to be over in this over itself.
18.5 J Weighell to J Taylor
0 Back of a length delivery on the off stump line. Taylor on the back foot pulls it straight to short mid wicket.
18.4 J Weighell to B Howell
1 Short and following the batter on the off stump line. Howell sits down under it and mistimes his upper cut down to deep third man for a single.
18.3 J Weighell to J Taylor
1 Short and outside the off. Taylor on the back foot cuts it late and finds the deep third man as they scamper through for a single.
18.2 J Weighell to J Taylor
4 FOURRR!!! AHHH!! That's the last thing Glamorgan needs. An outside edge to the ropes. Good length delivery and outside the off. Taylor on the back foot cuts it off the outside edge past the diving keeper to his right for a streaky four down to deep third man area.
18.1 J Weighell to J Taylor
0 Weighell comes back from over the wicket. Fuller and on the fourth stump line. Taylor drives it to short extra covers.

17.5 M Hogan to B Howell
0 Fuller length delivery on the off stump line. Howell on the front foot pushes it to short mid wicket.
17.4 M Hogan to J Bracey
W WICKETTT!!! The wickets are tumbling here but the batting side need just 8 here. Length ball around the off stump line. Bracey on the front foot picks this up and goes for a pull shot over the mid wicket fielder. But he gets the height rather than the distance. In the air and Carlson at deep mid wicket judges it well to complete the dismissal.
17.3 M Hogan to J Bracey
2 Back of a length delivery on the off. Bracey on the back foot controls this pull and places it behind the square on the leg side. The deep square leg fielder runs across and dives to stop a four. Two runs have been taken.
17.2 M Hogan to J Bracey
0 Back of a length and outside the off a touch. Bracey inside edges his pull shot back on to his pads.
