Chasing 131, Essex looked in a sudden turmoil after playing a few dot balls and losing the wicket of their captain Adam Rossington. It was some great bowling spell from Fred Klaassen who bowled 14 dot balls in his first three overs.
After that, equations changed from the sixth over where the first gear changing began and Michael Pepper started some huge hitting. He got a good companion in William Buttleman, who scored some boundaries on his way to 15. But it was Pepper who gave the first bite and ended up scoring a half-century in just 29 balls with two fours and four sixes.
After the dismissal of Pepper, Paul Walter came in and went for a few lofted shot to score 33 runs. He has hit a four and three sixes to take the game close towards Essex team. Walter's 33 runs over 200 strike rate has become highly valuable for the chasing team.
Although Fred Klassen and Qais Ahamad were good with the ball, George Linde, Matt Milnes, and Grant Stewart were highly expensive and by virtue of that Essex pocketed the game with 27 balls to spare.

4wd A wide and this one beats the keeper as well. Not the best way to bring up the winning runs but it won't really matter much to Walter and his side. Fired down leg and the keeper fails to get his body behind it as it races away to the fence. With that, Essex win the game by seven wickets.
