A comprehensive win from Leicestershire as they wrap up a 31-run victory to register the first points of the season. Chasing a mammoth 189 for victory, Adam Lyth got Yorkshire off to a rapid start but Ben Mike removed him in the third over to restrict the damage. In the very next over, Tom Kohler-Cadmore edged Naveen-ul-Haq to short third as Leicestershire got on top of the game. The experienced pair of Dawid Malan and Joe Root got together to build a solid partnership but they couldn't keep the asking rate in check.

Root eventually fell for 17 off 16 as Ben Mike broke yet another partnership in the 11th over. A couple of overs later, Dawid Malan departed off Callum Parkinson's bowling just after reaching his fifty. With two new batsmen in the middle, the task was stiff for Yorkshire even though Harry Brook and Shadab Khan got a flurry of boundaries. Leicestershire's overseas pro, Naveen-ul-Haq struck gold once again as Shadab edged a full delivery to Lewis Hill in the 17th over. Yorkshire's effort came to a grinding halt with the duo of Jordan Thompson and Harry Brook departing in successive overs. Naveen added a fourth scalp too as he plucked a stunning return catch to send back Dom Bess in the penultimate over of the game. Roman Walker also got into the action as he had Matthew Revis edging behind to the keeper off a sharp short delivery. In the end, Yorkshire could only end up with 157-9 as Walker wrapped up the proceedings with some variations
