This is it from the live coverage of the opener of THE HUNDRED, as we conclude this game with Southern Brave winning it by 9 wickets. That’s it for today from myself Nikhil Kalla alongside my co-commentators Anirudh Modi with our scorer/analyst Paras. See you soon again with more games to follow till then stay safe.

James Vince: "The bowlers did a fantastic job to restrict them to just over a hundred, and we did well to chase that down, when they searched for the wicket, we picked up boundaries. The bowlers were outstanding and backed up nicely by the guys in the field apart from me. A fantastic start for us. The pitch got a little better under the light, we took early wickets, and played the ball in the right areas. I'm used to playing here and unless the run rate gets really high, you really don't need to worry, early days in the competition and we still have a long way to go."
James Vince is the hero of the day.

NIKHIL: So, we are done here with the Southern Brave side winning the game, as they chased down a total of 107 in just 69 deliveries with 9 wickets in hand.

The Welsh Fire side started their innings in a poor manner as they managed to score just 21 losing 3 important wickets in the first 25 deliveries.

Banton and Clarke started the innings for Welsh but the pair was broken on the 4th delivery itself as Clarke was dismissed by Overton without troubling the scorers and was soon followed by his partner Banton who perished to Hogan on a score of 6. Pope walked in next and he lasted just 10 deliveries and he got cleaned up by Overton on 10. Nobody managed to put up a fight other than Ben Duckett who scored 40 runs.

For the Southern Brave team, Overton took a couple of wickets Starting with Clarke and Pope in the earlier stages. Hogan and Lintott got rid of Banton and Hain. Jordan took a couple of wickets late in the innings to restrict the Welsh side to a total of 107 runs.

In reply to the target set by the Welsh Fire team, Southern Brave started in the best possible way as they scored 42 runs in the first 25 deliveries without losing any wicket.

Davies and Vince started off in a thumping manner scoring 72 together. They smashed the bowlers of the Welsh team all around the park. Davies eventually perished as he tried to pull one on a score of 26 off Jake Ball. Stoinis then walked in and he along with Vince eased passed the total set in front of them. Vince was the top scorer for the Southern Brave as he scored 71 not out.

No bowler could take advantage of the Hybrid nature of this track and Only Jake Ball managed to pick up a solo wicket of Davies that was too little too late.

Anirudh: An anti-climatic end to a dominant victory for the BRAVES! THEIR SKIPPER HAD LED FROM THE FRONT AND SET AN EXAMPLE FOR THE TEAM TO FOLLOW THROUGH OUT THIS TOURNAMENT!
70b J Ball to J Vince
NB Ball has bowled one too high and NO-Ball signaled. Brave win this.
69b J Ball to J Vince
4 FOUR!!! Vince has pulled this one bounce over the fence for a boundary as just 1 run is needed for them to win this opening game. Back of a length delivery towards chest of Vince and he has pulled this towards square leg for a boundary.
68b J Ball to M Stoinis
1 Fuller delivery in the middle and Stoinis goes for the big heave, He has pushed slogged this towards mid-wicket for a single.
67b J Ball to J Vince

62b D Payne to M Stoinis
1 Length delivery, on the off stump, a slower one fools Stoinis' pull and gets an inside edge onto the body to trickle behind for a single.
