That's it from all of us for this game. This is me, Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer Paras Yadav. Tata. Bye Bye.
Deandra Dottin | Hero of the Match: "The main thing was to get myself in. We thought we had enough. We assessed the wicket and were confident of defending this total. Happy to pick up wickets at a crucial time. It was very important for us to win this game moving forward."

Akshay: What an end to this match. There were plenty of ebbs and flows throughout the game and the Manchester Originals have held their nerves to win the game by 11 runs. Welsh Fire were in for the most part of the chase but the Originals’ bowlers picked up wickets at crucial junctures to bounce back and register their first win of this year’s competition.

It was always going to be a difficult task to chase down the highest successful total in this year’s Women’s Hundred. Tammy Beaumont and Hayley Matthews were up to the task and gave Welsh Fire a solid start. They found odd boundaries and scored 32 at the end of the powerplay. Matthews started cutting loose as they put up fifty between them.

Matthews took on the Originals’ bowlers in the middle phase and led the charge. She played some beautiful shots and didn’t allow the required run rate to climb up. She brought up her fifty and her skipper played the role of a second fiddle to perfection at the other end. Matthews was cleaned up by Ecclestone on 69 and the Originals bounced back in the game. Dottin picked up two wickets off successive deliveries and turned the game on its head. Beaumont tried hard from one end and remained unbeaten on 45 but failed to take her side across the line as they fell short by 11 runs.

Welsh Fire skipper Tammy Beaumont won the toss and asked the Originals to bat first. The Originals didn’t have the best of starts to their innings as they lost Lizelle Lee early in the innings. Deandra Dottin joined Emma Lamb and started the recovery work. Both took some time in the middle before playing their strokes.

Lamb was struggling for timing but there was no stopping Dottin. Dottin raced to her fifty and hit some fantastic shots in the middle. Lamb’s struggling innings came to end when she departed on 35 of 41 balls. Sophie Ecclestone arrived at the crease and played a fantastic cameo. It was an onslaught from both Dottin and Ecclestone as they powered their side to 156 at the end of their innings. Both Dottin and Ecclestone remained unbeaten on 67 of 37 balls and 36 of 18 balls to help them post a massive total on the board. It proved to be too much for Welsh Fire in the end as they succumbed in the chase and lost the game by 11 runs.

2 Length ball on the off, Beaumont works it to deep mid-wicket, and a great piece of fielding by Dottin in the deep and saves 2 runs for her team. Dottin with the bat, Dottin with the ball, and now Dottin in the fielding. A complete 3D performance.
