Milestone
This is it from the live coverage of this game with Northern Superchargers winning it by 5 runs. That's it for today from myself Tugral Azmi alongside my co-commentator Ajay Ahire with our scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi. See you soon again with more games to follow till then stay safe.
Hollie Armitage (Northern Superchargers Captain): "I'm moved and proud of the girls for maintaining their composure. They did a fairly fantastic job of maintaining their lengths. Maintain your foot behind the line and make your best effort, which she did. After the ball, I was anxious, but I trusted her and she trusted herself, which helped us get through. Excellent Richards and Bess, who set the mood. She is exceptional. You must consider your options because rushed bowlers are unable to perform. Fortunately, things ultimately turned out well. We have outstanding players, and we eagerly await the future. The ambiance here has been fantastic."
Bess Heath (Hero of the Match): "We were just talking about building the partnership and we decided that I take on the bowlers and Laura to rotate the strike. That wasn't spinning much in the middle and it was really nice to bat on. I think we were 15-20 short but knew that has to do the job with the ball. Our bowlers bowled well under the pressure and did the job for us."
Tugral: So, we are done here with Northern Superchargers winning the game by 5 runs, as they restricted London Spirit to a total of 122 while chasing down a total of 127 which proved to be a bit too much for the London Spirit.

London Spirit got off to a scintillating start while chasing a total of 127 runs, Beth and Grace looked in a good touch they stitched a partnership of 48 runs for the first wicket. At one stage it was looking like it will be an easy chase for London Spirit. But Northern Superchargers fought back pretty well and they scalped a few quick wickets which put the Spirit on the backfoot. Smith gave Northern Superchargers the first breakthrough in her very first over, she uprooted Grace (18 off 18) stumps. Mooney (30 off 20) lost her wicket shortly after Grace was dismissed. Gibson also returned to the pavilion without opening the account and disturbing the scoreboard.

Sophie Luff took charge of London Spirit's sinking innings and scored at a blistering pace. In the end, Luff got the support of the skipper of her team, and both tried to change the course of the match but failed. On the other hand, Sophie Luff could not get the support of any batsman. Luff played an unbeaten knock of 39* off 30, and London Spirit suffered a 5-run defeat.

However, from the bowling side, after Northern Superchargers got the first breakthrough, they did not give the London Spirit team any chance to return to the match. Richards was an effective and impactful bowler throughout the innings. She was the pick of the bowlers for Superchargers as she took two wickets and gave away 20 runs. Lucy, Katie, and Linsey took one wicket each. Northern Superchargers showed an excellent performance with bat and ball, whose reward they got at the end of the match.

1 Only a single here for Wraith and that's a game-set-match here for the home side...They kept their nerves in control and won the game. Richards bowls that one on a good length on the off. Wraith drills it to the long-on for a single. They pick up their first win of this season as they beat the London Spirit by 5 runs...

99b Richards to C Dean
W WICKET!!! Dean departs here and that should be a match here for the home side. Unless the batter clears the fence on the last ball. Richards bowls that one on a fuller length a tad outside the off. Dean looks to go over the covers but gets the outside half of the bat and it has been taken by the cover fielder. Heath takes a simple catch there. She departs for 5...
London Spirit desperately needs a boundary...!!!
98b Richards to S Luff
1 Only a single now. Richards follows the batter on a fuller length. Luff drills it to the long-on for a single. 7 needed now from the last 2 balls...One big strike is needed now for them...

4 FOUR!!! Great start to the last set...9 needed now from the last 4 balls. Can Dean be a hero for her side? Richards bowls that one on a fuller length outside the off. Dean lofts that one over the extra cover for a four here...No one in the deep and the ball rolls away for a four.
