So that's it from this battle of the 'ROSES'. It was a great game and in the end no body deserved to be on the victory side. I am AkshayaKrishna Polya signing off on behalf of Badal Pareek who alongside our scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma who brought you all the live actions from this fascinating contest. We will meet in the next game. Until then, it's cheers..!!
Harry Brook | Player of the Match: "Yeah, obviously it was a bit of hectic situation when I joined Tom at the middle. We lost early wickets and it was a important partnership. we both, especially Tom played well early on to bring us back in the game. At the half-way I though they were just above par. We gave away a few runs in the last couple of overs. But happy to get the game so close but sad as I couldn't take advantage of that full toss. This year has been a very good one for me. I want to continue this form and want to win as many games as possible. Thank you"
Joe Root | Yorkshire Captain: "See, after losing the early wicket, our boys did stitch up a good partnership to steady the ship. Every player did contribute. I mean, he (Harry Brook) is a great young player. He is an upcoming star. He is in the Test squad. He played well but we couldn't cross the line. I thought that the total was just above par. But never thought about this tie. It was a good game. This competition brings talents across the country. So overall a satisfactory performances from our team. Next game I am playing before going to the Tests."
Dane Vilas | Lancashire Captain: "It was an unbelievable game. It is nice to be sitting aside Root. It went down to the wire and everybody wanted to be the match-winner. It was a cracking game here at Old Trafford. We didn't do well in field and that no-ball too didn't help. It was some game but we had to share the points which we wouldn't be happy of it. We didn't thought this was above par but could have defended it. A lots off young players are coming through this competition and that's what the aim is. Yeah, we have a game on Sunday."
Earlier in the day Yorkshire won the toss and decided to bat first. It was some effort by  Lancashire batters as they managed to post 183 runs on the board. A fine half-century from Salt and fine cameos from Livingstone, Tim David and Lamb gave them a good chance to win this one. Thanks to an all-round performance from the batting unit Lancashire posted a mammoth total of 183 runs on the board.

Chasing the big score of 184, Yorkshire started off poorly as they lost an early wicket in the second over. Dawid Malan (5 off 4) walked back to the pavilion at the very start and was soon followed by Adam Lyth who scored a quickfire 21 off 13 balls. Root failed to fire as he mistimed a pull straight into the hands of the man at deep square leg. A vintage partnership between Kohler-Cadmore (67 off 50) and Harry Brook (72 off 48) took them close to the massive 180 run total. In the end, they needed 13 runs off the last over and with Brook still out there it all seemed possible but he failed to deliver. Luckily Shadab Khan's boundary in the end and a few bowling errors helped them level the score in the penultimate ball. With a run needed off the last ball, it was in the favour of the batting team. Unfortunately, they couldn't score the single as Brook was trapped in front of the stumps off the last ball of the innings.

In the end, the match ended in a tie. It was a well-deserved result for both the teams as none of them deserved to lose.

AKSHAYA: AN EPIC MATCH OF ROSES HAS ENDED IN A TIE! What a game of cricket it was! Actually mistakes from Lancashire bowlers and fielders costed them. And it was upto Brook to pay them. But he unfortunately couldn't! Probably no body deserved a win tonight!!
19.6 R Gleeson to H Brook
W OUT!! A loud appeal, the umpire raises his finger here. Full toss on the stumps angling in, the batter fails to flick it and gets hit on the pads right in front of the pads. The points will be shared as both the teams end on the same score.
Arijit: One needed from one ball!! Whoaaa!! A lot of changes in the field....
19.5 R Gleeson to H Brook
2 Tries to make it a double, ohh he is in trouble here. Brook needs to rush at the striker's end. The keeper fails to collect and they get a double here. 1 need off 1, it is all in the batting team's favour.
19.5 R Gleeson to S Khan
1nb Is it a no ball?? Waist high full toss slogged in the air and the man rushing in from mid off drops it. . Ohh, wait it is a no ball. 2 balls 4 runs needed.
Arijit: 6 runs needed from 2 balls!! This one has gone done the wire!!
19.4 R Gleeson to S Khan
4 FOUR!!! Full and on the stump as the batter makes room and times it past deep point for a boundary. YOU BEAUTY KHAN. 6 runs needed off 2 balls, can he do it?
19.3 R Gleeson to H Brook
1 Full toss on the pads as the batter flicks it towards deep square leg for a single. 10 runs are needed off 3 balls. This is going down to the wire here.
Brook is home here at the striker's end.
19.2 R Gleeson to H Brook
2 Fuller and quicker from the bowler and the batter tucks this past the left of mid wicket region for a couple of runs. The batter returned for a double run and was almost at the climax. Thankfully some quick limbs saved him!!
19.1 R Gleeson to H Brook
0 Full in length on off stump as the batter drives it straight to the man at short covers. Dot ball to start the last over. 13 runs off 5 balls.
