Middlesex will play their next game against Glamorgan on Sunday (29th May), while Hampshire will lock horns against Somerset on Monday (30th May). That brings us to the end of this encounter. Till the next time it's adieous from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty), my fellow commentator Shashank Surly along with our scorer

Arya- 162 on the board was a good total from Middlesex and Hampshire needed to get off to a good start to lay the platform for the run-chase. It was Ben McDermott and Aneurin Donald who got Hampshire off to a great start scoring some good boundaries in the powerplay. McDermott got off to a great start and shared a 41 runs stand in less than 5 overs before Blake Cullen induced a false shot from McDermott, sending him back to the pavilion.

Chris Green was introduced into the attack and he got the wicket of another set batter Aneurin Donald which put Hampshire on the backfoot. However, with their skipper James Vince at the crease, Hampshire would have felt confident of chasing this down. Vince played some delightful shots to begin with but he kept losing his partners at the other end.

Luke Hollman had a great start to his spell as he bagged two crucial wickets in his very first over to peg back Hampshire. Weatherley was looking in good touch when he was dismissed by Hollman. He followed it up with the wicket of Liam Dawson a delivery later. However, Dawson wasn’t quite happy with the decision as he felt he got some glove there.

It was a good partnership between Vince and Whiteley which got Hampshire back into the game after they were reduced to 58/4 at one stage. Whiteley struck some lusty blows to get going and raced off to 27 in just 15 deliveries to provide the much-needed momentum in the middle overs. Hollman was struck for a boundary but he came back stronger and bagged the prized wicket in that over itself.

However, with Vince still at the crease, Hampshire still looked like the favourites. James Fuller came out in the middle to join Vince and started off very well. He smashed 20 of 13 deliveries before perishing at the hands of Roland-Jones. It was still a match for Hampshire to lose until Vince was there. However, when he was dismissed in the final delivery of the penultimate over, 14 runs in the final over was a bit too much for the lower. Eventually, Middlesex won by 10 runs courtesy a good final over.

Arya- That brings us to the end of an entertaining game. Hampshire was looking well in pursuit of their victory target but the last three overs were tight from the Middlesex bowlers which eventually hands them a win by 10 runs. The last over of Middlesex's batting innings turned out to be a decisive factor in the game as they collected 19 runs which allowed them to post a more than competitive 162 on the board.

19.6 T Roland-Jones to C Wood
W Wood swings across the line, ends up getting a toppish edge which carries all the wa to the long-on fielder. A pretty impressive win for Middlesex. Another length delivery from Roland Jones around the off-stump area. Wood tries to smash that away downtown. Couldn't quite get the connection he was after. Gets the elevation but not the distance and Chris Green settles under that and takes it comfortably.
Shashank: The T20 strugglers Middlesex have started the season with back to back wins now...
19.5 T Roland-Jones to N Ellis
1 Ellis has to hit a six. Doesn't get one and Middlesex has got this done and dusted. Ellis comes down the track and swings it away down the long-on region for a single.
12 needed of 2..
19.4 T Roland-Jones to C Wood
1 Slower delivery on the surface. A tad outside off and Wood pushes it away down the mid-off region for a single.
13 needed off 3...
19.3 T Roland-Jones to N Ellis
1 A low full toss around off and that has been smashed away all along the ground towards long-off and finally gets off the strike Nathan Ellis.
19.2 T Roland-Jones to N Ellis
0 Two dot balls to start the over. Length delivery on the stumps, Ellis again swipes across the line but doesn't make any contact.
19.1 T Roland-Jones to N Ellis
0 Roland-Jones starts off with a slower yorker. A shade outside off, Ellis swings across the line and is a bit too early into the shot. Doesn't make any contact.
Whatta thriller of a game we are having here. Roland-Jones to defend 14 off the last over now..

18.6 M Andersson to J Vince
W Vince has been caught at long-on and that is a huge moment in the game. Now 14 needed of the last delivery. The wicket of Vince but more importantly a dot ball. Was a full one from Andersson around the off stump. Vince had to clear the long straight boundary. Didn't get it from the centre of the bat and holds out at long-on. Green holds it comfortably.
