That's it from this fixture in this Group 1 fixture. Don't go anywhere as big England vs New Zealand game is on its way which is a must-win game for England to keep their destiny in their hands. Hop on the tabs and catch that clash and stay tuned to our network for all other cricketing action across the globe.

For now, this is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Ninaad Dixit, alongside scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye, Take Care, and CHEERS!
Dasun Shanaka (Sri Lanka Captain): "I think it was a really good performance with bat and ball. Dhananjaya de Silva batted really well as he bowled excellently with the ball. Wanindu also bowled well and gave us the win today. I think that gave us momentum and helped us to win today. It gave us confidence as well. I think we cannot think about the other games as that is beyond our control. What's under our control is to focus on our final game and hope to win that and see what happens. We have to control what is in our control. Let's hope for the best."
Mohammad Nabi (Afghanistan Captain): "That was a good start in the powerplay. We didn't keep the momentum till the end. We tried our best to put some score on the board. The wicket kept on getting slower. We didn't bowl perfect lines or lengths. The fast bowlers erred in line and length and bowled a bit too full. We didn't utilize the wicket to good effect. We didn't play any game since the last 10 days so we lacked in momentum coming in for this game. Hopefully this changes in the game against Australia."
Wanindu Hasaranga: "We lost 2 games against Australia, New Zealand these are 2 good sides. We had to play well this game and the next one so I am happy the boys did well. Last night also Zampa bowled really well so I tried to vary my pace and bowl on the stumps.

Perth was very good for the batters so I went for some runs in that game but I know how I can comeback strong so I think I did well. Bowling the last over, especially with these big boundaries, I have some experience with that."
Wanindu Hasaranga is the player of the match.

Dhananjaya de Silva hits the winning runs and finishes things off in style as Sri Lanka wins this game by 6 wickets with 9 balls to spare. A good display by the Lankans overall as they keep their slim hopes of qualification for the semis alive. Afghanistan, with this loss bows out of the competition.

Chasing a tricky 145 for the win, Sri Lanka lost Pathum Nissanka early for 10 runs. Kusal Mendis struggled for his 25 off 27 balls. It was the Dhananjaya de Silva show as he held the innings together and steered the ship home. He remained unbeaten on 66* off 42 balls while Charith Asalanka chipped in with 19 off 18 balls and Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored 18 off 14 balls. 10 extras were given by the Afghan bowlers as the victory target was achieved in 18.3 overs.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman picked up a couple of wickets as he was the pick of the bowlers with 2/24 in 4 overs. Rashid Khan also had two wickets to his name as he ended with 2/31 in 4 overs. The rest of the bowlers went wicketless as they tried their best, but it was too low a total to defend for the Afghan bowlers.

Earlier in the game, Afghanistan opting to bat first got off to a steady start as they amassed 42 runs in the powerplay. They lost Gurbaz just after the powerplay to Lahiru Kumara for 28 off 24 balls. No Afghan batters could cross 30 and that was a big problem for them. Usman Ghani opening today scored 27 runs off 27 balls. Ibrahim Zadran chipped in with 22 off 18 balls. Najibullah Zadran scored 18 off 16 balls. Gulbadin Naib scored 12 off 14 balls while skipper Mohammad Nabi scored 13 off 8 balls. 11 extras were given by the Lankan bowlers who came back at the death overs. Afghanistan lost 5/40 in the last five overs and had to settle for 144/8 in 20 overs.

Wanindu Hasaranga was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka as he had exceptional figures of 3/13 off 4 overs including a brilliant 20th over that he bowled. Lahiru Kumara picked up a couple of wickets for his 2/30 in 4 overs. A wicket apiece for Kasun Rajitha and Dhananjaya de Silva. Theekshana and Madushan went wicketless today. A good bowling performance especially at the death overs. That proved to be the difference as Sri Lanka won the game with 9 balls to spare.

So, a win for Sri Lanka over Afghanistan by 6 wickets with 9 balls to spare. Stick around for the post-match presentation ceremony that comes your way soon.

18.3 F Farooqi to Silva
4 DHANANJAYA DE SILVA FINISHES IT OFF IN STYLE!! What a stroke!! Plays it over extra cover and finds the fence! How many times have we seen this today! Overpitched delivery outside off. Gets on the front foot and swings nicely. Times the stroke to perfection and finds the extra cover boundary! Sri Lanka win by 6 wickets and stay alive in the hunt. Afghanistan have no chance of qualifying for the semifinals.
18.2 F Farooqi to Silva
0 Wide yorker outside the off stump. Dhananjaya gets on the front foot and throws his bat towards the line. Gets it off the toe end of the bat to the keeper who collects on the bounce high over his shoulder.
Scores are level now as Rashid seems to have hurt his knee here. He is in pain and is not good news for Afghanistan going forward. He is off the field and is being carried on by two people outside the boundary.
18.1 F Farooqi to Silva
2 Scores are level. Over the wicket. Short delivery on the leg stump. Dhananjaya is rushed to play the pull off the bottom of the bat and manages to pierce the gap towards cow corner. Rashid is running in from deep midwicket along with long on. Skids and stops the ball but his knee digs in the ground. He is in terrible pain and hasn't got up. He takes support of the team doctors to walk off the field. Hope he is okay.

17.6 Rahman to B Rajapaksa
W GONE! Late wicket for Afghanistan. Mujeeb goes round the wicket. Good length delivery, an arm ball angled on the fourth stump line. Rajapaksa is cramped for room as he shapes to cut, gets it off the bat and the keeper does well collecting the ball which balloons off his arm. Soft dismissal for the left hander.
17.5 Rahman to Silva
1 Flatter around the off stump. Punched to long on for a single.
17.4 Rahman to Silva
4 FOUR MORE!! Dhananjaya de Silva you beauty! Sri Lanka are just one hit away from victory. Short delivery on the wicket. Dhananjaya rocks back and pulls! Bisects the gap between deep square and deep midwicket for another boundary!!
17.3 Rahman to Silva
4 FOUR! The scoop comes out as Dhananjaya picks this length delivery on the stmups nicely over the keeper's head. Bisects short third man and fine leg to get another boundary!
