Milestone
So, that brings an end to this entertaining game between India and South Africa. Stay tuned to our coverage with Australia taking on Ireland in the only fixture tomorrow. We are getting into a crucial week of this World Cup. So, there is a lot of intense cricket coming up for us. Apart from the World Cup, there is also the WBBL which is on. Don't miss out on that too. Until next time, it is a warm good-bye from myself, Karthik Raj, my co-commentator, AkshayaKrishna Polya and our scorer, Paras Yadav.
Temba Bavuma | South Africa Captain: "Yeah, I think the discussion with the coach and Aiden and Miller was to step up and change the momentum of the game. That is where you put pressure on the opponents. The guys are in form, barring me to be honest. They are stepping up really well. We watched the games that were being played in this area. It was obviously risky, but the variable bounce helped us. We kept mid-off and mid-on up, making us predictable, but we backed ourselves up. We entered the tournament as underdogs, and we intend to stay that way. We will continue to improve, and this is what we are doing."
Rohit Sharma | Indian Captain: "We expected the pitch to have a lot of support for the pacers.130 was not an easy target to chase but eventually we fell short. It was a match-winning partnership from Markram and Miller. We were poor in the field, missed a few opportunities. We were just not good enough in the field, last few games we were good and want to be consistent in that department. Need to take the learnings from this game. Wanted the seamers to get the right overs. Given the new batter came in, it was a perfect time for Ashwin to bowl. I just wanted to make sure that the seamers were bowling the correct overs if I could finish Ash. You must employ it at some point. It was the ideal time for him to bowl with the new batter. Miller also made some good shots."
Lungi Ngidi | Player of the Match: "Yeah, it was really nerve-wracking. As a bowler, you can't do much, you need to sit and watch things happen. Yeah, it was nerve-wracking. It was one of my biggest dreams to get an award in the World Cups. It all comes down to watching a lot of games here. We've also played here. We saw how Pakistan bowled earlier, and it helped us as well. Overall I am happy with the result. I think just after the 10-over mark, the match turned towards us. First, it was Markram who moved the game and later, Miller followed him."

DAVID MILLER DRIVES IT THROUGH THE TOP AS SOUTH AFRICA WIN AND GO TO THE TOP OF THE TABLE! What a huge win for the Proteas. It wasn’t easy at all against a spirited Indian side but Miller along with Aiden Markram have got the job done for South Africa.

Having posted only 133/9, India had their backs to the walls from the beginning but the duo of Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar produced a fantastic start to the defense. The pair swung the ball around corners with Arshdeep accounting for Quinton de Kock and Rilee Rossouw while Mohammad Shami sent back Temba Bavuma. The Proteas were reeling at 24-3 but the pair of Aiden Markram and David Miller batted maturely to ensure no further dismissals.

South Africa reached 40-3 at the half-way mark after which Markram stepped up the ante by targeting Hardik Pandya and Ravichandran Ashwin. The right-hander also had some fortune coming his way Virat Kohli dropped a dolly off Ashwin’s bowling. The Indian team missed some more chances including a simple run-out chance for Rohit Sharma with Markram way out of the crease. These missed chances came back to haunt India as Miller also joined the party and gave superb support to Markram.

With only 39 runs required off the last 30 balls, South Africa looked in control but Hardik gave some hope by having Markram caught at deep mid-wicket. The promising Tristan Stubbs hit one boundary but he soon got out off Ashwin's bowling as there seemed to be a twist in the tale. Mohammad Shami also tightened the screws by conceding only six runs off the penultimate over. However, it didn't prove to be enough as David Miller struck two boundaries and completed a tense chase!

19.4 B Kumar to D Miller
4 FOURR!! Fuller length and outside the off. Miller drives it uppishly over the covers, and no one in the deep. Miller finishes things off in style as they win a tough game at the Optus. They move to the top of the table.
19.3 B Kumar to D Miller
4 FOURR!! Poor strategy by India and that costs India the match! Short ball over the right shoulder. Miller swivels around and tries for a pull. Gets enough gloves in it as it goes up and over the head of the keeper for a crucial four.
19.2 B Kumar to W Parnell
1 Back of a length outside the off. Parnell punches it through the covers for a single.
19.1 B Kumar to W Parnell
0 Back of a length on the leg stump. Parnell misses the tuck on to the thigh pads. It loops down to the backward point fielder and Miller says no run.
Karthik: WOAH!! Dot ball to end the over and South Africa need 6 off the last 6 balls with Wayne Parnell on strike. We have a gripping end on the cards!

18.4 M Shami to D Miller
1 Yorker outside the off. Miller digs it off the cue end down to backward point for a single.
18.3 M Shami to D Miller
0 Fuller length angling into the leg stump. Miller gets the inside edge onto the pads as he attempts a flick.
18.2 M Shami to D Miller
0 Short and outside the off. Miller misses the cut through to the keeper.
Cracking fifty from David Miller. He wasn't fluent in the beginning but bided his time and eventually reaped rewards for the patience.
18.1 M Shami to D Miller
4 FOURR!! That is the final nail in the coffin! Back of a length outside the off. No bounce, only room, Miller frees his arms and thrashes it with a cut. Gets it off the outside half of the bat. In the air, and one bounce over the ropes down to deep backward point.
