So that is it from the enthralling clash between India and Netherlands. A pretty one-sided in favor of India as the Men in Blue won by 56 runs.

It's Arijit Kundu closing the coverage alongside revert co-commentators, Akshayakrishna Polya, Anurag Dasgupta (DG), and Probuddha Bhattacharjee (PBD). Shoutout to scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer for smooth coverage. It's time to switch tabs and join us as we take you to Perth Stadium where Pakistan locks horns against Zimbabwe.
Rohit Sharma (India Captain): "Luckily for us, we had a few days to get over the win, considering what it holds, the first game of the tournament. As soon as the game got over, we came to Sydney, told the boys that it was a great win for us. But now it was told that we need to win and get those crucial two points for us.

Look, honestly, when you are expected to win, the pressure is on us. A lot of credit to them for the way they have played in the Super 12s. it was a near-good game for us. The wicket was on the slower side at the start. We needed to build that partnership and get to a good total later.

Both the batters were brilliant to score the runs at the end. Ah not entirely satisfied with my batting. I wouldn't say it was a perfect knock for me, but to get some runs for my side it was important.

I know it won't be always perfect the way I want to bat. It can be scratchy, and it can be ugly-looking runs but it is important for us to get the runs getting. He won't be happy with that haha [on Rohit Sharma surpassing Yuvraj Singh for the most number of sixes by an Indian in T20 WC]!!"
Scott Edwards (Netherlands Captain): "Yeah definitely nice. But with the noise around, the chants, it becomes difficult to concentrate. We came here to win but against these oppositions, we need to be in the money always. The batters at the end were interesting. It's always coming tough to restrict them when the two batters are batting [on Kohli and Surya] in that manner at the end."
Suryakumar Yadav (Player of the Match): "I was just trying to express myself, and I think the situation was simple. I just had to up the tempo at that time. I took one ball today, yeah haha, the message was loud and clear.

When I was going into bat, we had to get 10 an over and we had to get something to make the bowler's job easy. The thoughts was very clear, if I get some boundary at the up it becomes easy for me. Absolutely haha, need to run hard with Virat Kohli.
"

3:53 PM IST: And with that, India have clinched a 56 runs victory against Netherlands and is crowned at the top of their points table, just over South Africa.

Earlier India won the toss and decided to bat first. KL Rahul failed to fire once again as he was dismissed for 9 off 12 in the third over of the innings.

However captain Rohit Sharma and the man in form, Virat Kohli ensured that India did not falter. They stitched a 73 runs partnership and laid the foundation for the team. Rohit was dismissed in the 12th over when India’s score was 84 runs. Before walking back to the hut Rohit had scored 53 runs off 39 deliveries.

Even after Rohit’s dismissal, Kohli continued to be the anchor from one end while Suryakumar Yadav took it upon himself to increase the scoring rate of the team. Towards the fag end of the innings Kohli started accelerating and remained unbeaten at 62 off 44. Surya at the other end played a blinder of 51* off 25 and helped India reach a total of 179 runs in their 20 overs.

The Netherlands were nervous to get off the blocks in their chase. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and by the halfway stage the Dutch were stationed at 51 for 3.

A formidable partnership never came for the Netherlands and they were ultimately restricted to 123 for 9 in 20 overs. The pick of the bowlers for India was Axar Patel, who took 2 wickets for 18 runs in their 4 overs. Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar also bagged the same number of wickets.

India won the match by 56 runs and are now comfortably positioned at the top of Group 2 with 4 points from 2 matches.

4 Three in a row!! What a way to end the over. But it doesn't matter, India have won the game. Full toss once again and Meekeren smashes it down to long off for yet another boundary. And that will see the victory of India as they have successfully defended 179 runs. The Men in Blue has won by 56 runs and two crucial points have been pocketed.
19.5 A Singh to Meekeren
4 FOURRRR!! A top edge and the ball unfurls towards the boundary ropes, after marooning over DK. Short and into the right-hander as he comes wide of the popping crease.
19.4 A Singh to Meekeren
4 Full toss and it gets the deserved treatment. Arshdeep was looking for the yorker and misses it completely. Meekeren slaps it through the covers and will get a boundary..
19.3 A Singh to S Ahmad
1 Keeps it full on the off. Ahmad slashes hard and plays it towards deep cover to rotate the strike.
19.2 A Singh to Meekeren
1 Short of a length on the stumps. Meekeren swivels and miscues the pull towards square leg for a single.
19.1 A Singh to Meekeren
0 Fires it into the blockhole. He saw Meekeren moving away from the line and follows him up. Meekeren just manages to bring his bat down on time.
Arshdeep is on a hattrick now.

2 Length delivery, angling away from Shariz and the 19-year-old splashes at it towards the deep covers region and Kohli at the deep picks the ball in one hand. A double for the duo.
18.5 M Shami to S Ahmad
4 FOURRRR!! That's well-struck by Ahmad! He generated a lot of power on that one. It was full on the stumps. Ahmad backed away from the line and smashes it towards the deep point region for a welcome boundary.

18.4 M Shami to S Ahmad
0 Slower delivery once again. Length on the off. Ahmad just can't get a bat to it...
18.3 M Shami to Meekeren
1 A touch fuller, outside the off. Meekeren lifts it over the covers and will get a run here.
