That is it for today. This is me, AkshayaKrishna Polya signing off on behalf of my favourite co-commentators Arijit Kundu and Ajay Ahire and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer brought you all the live-action of this rain swallowed entertainer. We will meet in the next game. Until then, it is cheers!
5:43 PM IST | That is that from this hide-and-seek game. The rain got heavier, and from here onwards, no match is possible. ABANDONED! However, Zimbabwe steal a point, thanks to persisting rain.

Earlier in the day, Zimbabwe won the toss and opt to bat first. But as soon as the national anthems concluded, the rain entered the fray as expected and delayed the match for about two and an half hours. Once the match was reduced to nine overs aside, it was always going to be tough for Zimbabwean batters to tonk the South African bowlers.

South African bowlers were on fire and reduced Zimbabwe to 19/4 in the fourth over. But a counter-attack from Wesley Madhevere, who, alongside Milton Shumba, stitched 60 runs for the 5th wicket and helped the side to get to 79/5 in their allotted 9 overs.

Chasing this, Quinton de Kock came to all guns blazing and smashed Tendai Chatara for 23 runs in the first over and became the batter with the most score in the first over of an innings in T20I history. The rain came back again and halted the match, but after a few minutes, it resumed again, with overs reducing to 7. De Kock continued his onslaught against Richard Ngarava and Sikandar Raza and was at 47 off 18 deliveries with 8 fours and a six when the umpires decided enough is enough.

Once the cut-off time was passed, and the rain didn't stop, the on-field umpires decided to call off the game with South Africa cruising at 51/0 in three overs, needing 13 runs in the remaining four overs.

Stayed tuned for the presentations!
5:38 PM IST: And guess what the rain is back...The covers are on now and the players are going out of the field...The rain has got heavier now and the South African players are looking quite unhappy with all the things happening around. They might miss out on a point here...

2.6 S Raza to Kock
3 Free-hit...Raza bowls it with round-arm action on a fuller length outside the off. De kock goes for the slash but gets the thick outside edge of the bat over the short third man for three runs...
Free hit on queue.
2.6 S Raza to Kock
2nb Length delivery wide outside the off and the left hander goes back and slaps it towards the deep point region for a double. No-ball called. A free hit is on the cards as Sikander has overstepped.
2.5 S Raza to Kock
0 A touch full and angling into the left hander. Kock sits there for the slog sweep and swings a bit early. The ball skittles through to hit the pads, and the original decision is not-out.
2.4 S Raza to T Bavuma
1 Floated outside the leg and the batter reverse sweeps this past the virtual silly point region for a single.
2.3 S Raza to Kock
1 Comes wide of the crease, change of release position, and the batter pulls it along towards the deep mid wicket.
2.2 S Raza to Kock
2 Length delivery wide outside the off and Kock hangs back and pulls this towards the gaps between long on and deep mid wicket.
2.1 S Raza to T Bavuma
1 Length delivery straight at the woods, Bavuma reverse sweeps it, mistimes it to point of the splice of the bat.
Sikandar Raza is into the attack.

Quinton de Kock (23) is the most ever scored by a batter in the first over of the T20Is.
Ngarava is down. Looks like a hamstring pull. Yes, he is in serious pain. The team doctor is in. And he is walking off.
