That's it from this game and another double-header of the T20 World Cup 2022. The final round of fixtures will be played in the upcoming two days as the first round of games reaches its epic conclusion. Do join us tomorrow for more fixtures from the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. For now, this is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Ninaad Dixit and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Until next time, goodbye and CHEERS!
Nicholas Pooran (West Indies Captain): "First of all thanks to Jesus for the game. How to explain this game? We spoke yesterday as to how to go about the game and go about with the bat. The team learns how to go about it. The partnerships are important and we lacked a bit today. Akeal and Rovman with that partnership took us to a good total. After the start with the ball, credit to the guys to show character to come back.

Yes, Mayers swings the ball and that's why we start with him. It has not come off and we will keep supporting him going forward. We need to develop areas in improving those areas. Jason was special as he is the most experienced bowler in the Caribbean. So, he showed his class.

Joseph has been amazing for us this year. Bowling at 140 km/hr, and helping us all the way in getting the right results. Jason, Alzarri, Akeal, and Odean Smith all are doing well. Yes, loads of work to do and I am working hard, but a lot of hard work to do for me going forward. We look forward to the game on Friday and hope I can find form."
Regis Chakabva (Zimbabwe Captain): "I though that the bowlers stuck to their plans to hit their areas especially the spinners. Their batters did well for sometime in the middle but our bowlers did well to come back from their. We were happy to restrict them to 150 and were confident that we will get there. But we lost a couple of wickets more in the first 10 overs and kudos to Alzarri Joseph as he opened the game for them bowling really well.

I think the boys are still pretty confident. They'll be disappointed how we finished tonight after a good start but we look to bounce back on Friday."
Alzarri Joseph: "It's very encouraging but we have one more game and we need to win that. I want to try get an early wicket for the team. It took a bit of work but it depends on the batter as well. The conditions were pretty good. I am quite happy with my performances as it helped the team's cause."
Alzarri Joseph is the player of the match!
West Indies has pulled a rabbit out of the hat as they have come from behind to win by 31 runs to keep their hopes alive and throw this Group B wide open. Zimbabwe will be disappointed with a missed opportunity as West Indies stays in it going into the final round of fixtures.

Chasing a target of 154 for the win and qualify for the Super 12 stage, Zimbabwe got off to a flier as they scored 18 runs off the first over and 29 off the first two overs. Regis Chakabva started the hitting as he scored 13 off 9 balls. Wesley Madhevere scored an enterprising 27 off 19 balls. Zimbabwe kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. Sikandar Raza could manage only 14 off 8 balls. Ryan Burl chipped in with 17 off 19 balls and Luke Jongwe top-scored with 29 off 22 balls. 11 extras were given by the West Indies bowlers as Zimbabwe ended up with 122 all out in 18.2 overs as they lose the game by 31 runs.

Alzarri Joseph was the pick of the bowlers for the West Indies as he brought them back into the game with a timely wicket inside the powerplay. He finished with exceptional figures of 4/16 in 4 overs. He was ably supported by Jason Holder as he picked up 3 wickets for 12 runs in 3.2 overs. A wicket apiece for Akeal Hosein, Obed McCoy, and Odean Smith as the Windies rallied to win and stay alive in the tournament.

After winning the toss and deciding to bat first, West Indies got off to a decent start with the opening pair of Kyle Mayers and Johnson Charles adding 28 runs in 3.3 overs. Mayers went for 13 off 12 balls. The returning Johnson Charles top scored with 45 off 36 balls before being unfortunately run out. Evin Lewis contributed with 15 off 18 balls. The West Indies suffered a wobble in the middle overs as they went from 90/2 to 101/6 in no time. They were rescued by Rovman Powell who scored 28 off 21 balls and he was ably supported by Akeal Hosein who was unbeaten on 23* off 18 balls. 17 extras contributed to the total as the West Indies ended up with a competitive 153/7 in 20 overs.

Sikandar Raza was the pick of the bowlers for Zimbabwe as he had magical figures of 3/19 in 4 overs. He was ably supported by Sean Williams as he had figures of 1/17 in 3 overs. A couple of wickets for Blessing Muzarabani. The rest of the bowlers tried their best as they did well to keep West Indies down to 153 after the West Indies were 90/2 at one point in time.

So, a win for West Indies over Zimbabwe by 31 runs to stay alive in the competition. Stick around for the post-match presentation ceremony that comes your way soon.
