That's it from this game. We have seen another heartbreak. This time the upset for West Indies. For now, I am AkshayaKrishna Polya, who, alongside my co-commentator, Probuddha Bhattacharjee and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav brought you all the live action from this thrilling encounter.
Richie Berrington | Scotland Captain: "Yeah, look obvious a great win. We have worked hard to get to this moment. I am proud of my boys for doing the way they did on this stage. We didn't had much preparation with gametime as we played only a few games. I think George Munsey and Jones played well up at the top. A few good cameos here and there at the end. They have done well for many years now. Leask and Watt especially. Watt started off with the first over and later, Leask bowled four overs on the trot."
Nicholas Pooran | West Indies Captain" Tough loss and obviously disappointed. We have to work harder now. I thought we started well but the fault in our middle order continues. Their spinners picking up 5 wickets was not acceptable. The next game is a must win for us and we have to turn around as quickly as possible. From a team point of view, we spoke we hit the opposition hard, no matter who we play, we got the start as well but the result was disappointing."
George Munsey | Player of the Match: "Yeah, the injury is okay. I need to check it now. Maybe a rest for a couple of days. Yeah, we bowled well. They picked up wickets well. I started off decently. But struggled a bit during the mid-way. But a couple of guys took pressure of me. They played good strokes. In between West Indies bowled well. Yeah, during halfway, I thought the score would be competitive. But, I thought we would work with that."
1:48 PM IST:  In the first match of Group B, Scotland stunned the two time T20I world champions, West Indies.

Being invited to bat first, Scotland put up a total of 160 runs in their 20 overs. George Musney played the role of an anchor as he batted throughout the innings and ensured that the team did not fall behind in the match. He remained unbeaten on 66 from 53 balls after the end of the innings.

Alongside Munsey, a few players like Alexander-Jones and MacLeod played little cameos to help Scotland to the total.

West Indies was tasked with the job of chasing down 161 runs in their 20 overs. The start to their innings was moderate as they scored 53 runs in the first 6 overs for the loss of two wickets.

But after this they faced a major collapse, as they lost 6 wickets for just 21 runs. Within the 14th over of the chase West Indies was left reeling at 84 for 8. Kyle Mayers was the highest scorer in the top order with 20 runs off 13 balls. But the middle order failed to provide any resilience to the team as number 4, 5 and 6 just managed to score only 14 runs.

The Scottish bowlers were right on the money throughout the innings and never allowed the breathing space to opposition batters. Mark Watt was the pick of the bowlers as he bowled 4 overs and conceded just 12 runs while picking up 2 wickets. Besides him, the other bowlers like Wheal, Davey and Leask were all on the money.

Holder (38 off 33) fought the battle alone for the West Indies towards the end. But it was too much of a task for even him in the end. West Indies in the end perished for 118 runs losing the match by 42 runs .

They will need to bounce back quickly in the next match to make it to the Super 12 of the tournament.
