Misbah Ul Haq (Winning Asia Lions Captain): "Everything is going well despite the body situation. When we started the tournament, the team that stays fit will win this tournament. Yes obviously, Afghan, Dilshan is a fit and clever cricketer. When India was bowling, they were getting movement, that's why I bowled Afghan today. The resources we have, we have to use them well. The two batters need to compliment each other. One has to go, and the other has to play through the innings. So, it's all about adjusting and playing and complimenting one another and doing the best we can. We hope to carry on the momentum in the coming days and win our last game on Thursday. "
Asghar Afghan (Legend of the Match): "Every batsman wait to bat over here. We were chatting in the dressing room to finish it and I am happy I did well today. To retire is the toughest thing and I think I took the right call. I have bowled at the national level and am so happy to bowl and get the wickets. I told the captain to bring me to the end. "
Mohammed Kaif (Losing India Maharajas Captain): "Not so good, did my quads last game and while batting I have injured myself. I think Asghar made the difference. We were chasing 190+ due to him. Tharanga is batting well, we are finding it challenging getting him out. We tried to have partnerships, but we lost wickets at regular intervals. We didn't have partnerships that were the difference. I don't know. We have to win and see the Net Run Rate and win big. Hope our key players like Irfan, Ojha comes back and we do well. "
Time for the Presentation Ceremony.
Stuart Binny: "They batted well in the conditions, batted well in the powerplay, and took advantage of our weaker bowlers. Everyone has got different plans. We need to take a rest. All our bodies are not the same, so rest is required. It's great to see women officiating the game. Great initiative. Kaif is down with a calf injury. Gony is down with side strain. Hope one of them is fit. We have got to play well and play a lot better if we are to win against the Giants on Wednesday. "

Lions register a thumping victory over the Maharajas and they have been absolutely clinical in all three departments. The Maharajas didn’t get the desired start in the powerplay and they were always playing a catch up game post that. Yusuf Pathan and Stuart Binny tried to resurrect the innings but to no avail. Binny was strangled down the leg side and Pathan succumbed to the medium pace of Asar Afghan. Post that India folded like a pack of cards and just went through the motions to their inevitable end.

Talking about Asar Afghan what a night he had. Propelling his team to an above par total with his ballistics towards the end. The 35 year old bought all the experience from T20 leagues around the world and proved to be the difference maker today. Twenty Eight ball 69, striking them at over 240 and hitting seven big ones.

Credit to Upul Tharanga as well who continued on his merry run and notched up his third half century in a row. The southpaw laid the foundation with his forty five ball 72 and helped his team reach a position where they could eye a big finish.

The bowlers were exceptional, two wickets apiece for Afghan, Rafique and Kulasekara. One each for Akhtar and Fernando. Murali didn’t bag one today but finished his spell with none for 23.

Earlier in the day Maharajas won the toss and opted to field first. They were right in the game and kept the opposition in check. But Tharanga was defiant as ever and laid the foundation for Asar Afghan to capitalize on. Asia Lions will be relieved, they chased down over 200 a few days back and they executed well today to overcome the Indian Maharajas.

The lions go to the top of the points table and get a one day rest. The Maharajas on the other hand come back here tomorrow and take on a rejuvenated World Giants. That was it from our side today, this was Anmol Ahuja along with Ayan Chatterjee and Arya Sekhar Chakroborty.

On to the presentation now..

19.6 N Kulasekara to M Gony
0 A brilliant victory for the Asia Lions. First time to defend a total and has defended that quite comprehensively in the end. Kulasekara ends the match with a full one and that is drilled only as far as the bowler.
19.5 N Kulasekara to M Gony
0 A nice full delivery outside the off-stump. Carved away by Gony off the frontfoot but decides not to take the single. He is in real pain.
19.4 N Kulasekara to N Chopra
1 On a fuller-length this time from Kulasekara. Nikhil Chopra tries to work that away down the leg side and ends up getting an inside edge down the silly mid-off area for a single.
19.3 N Kulasekara to N Chopra
0 Chopra tried to go deep into his crease there and Kulasekara sees that and bowls it outside off. Back of a length slower delivery and Chopra unable to get that away down the off side.
19.2 N Kulasekara to N Chopra
0 Absolutely perfect bowling by Kulasekara. Nails the wide yorker again and yet again it goes under the bat of Nikhil Chopra.
19.1 N Kulasekara to N Chopra
0 A perfect wide yorker and well under the bat of Nikhil Chopra. Right under his bat and Chopra had no chance to play that.
Manpreet Gony seems to be in serious pain as the physio attends to him. He will continue for now with an over to spare.

18.6 D Fernando to M Gony
6 Back to back sixes for Gony but he looks in pain. Fernando again tries to follow Gony here but he is equal to the task. Flicks it away from his presence and yet again it goes over the fence just over the head of the deep backward square leg fence. That could be a painful side strain for Gony and Akhtar is having a chat with him. Seeing the funny side of it.
18.5 D Fernando to M Gony
6 Bang, gets underneath that and the ball sails over the deep square leg fence. A length delivery from Fernando on this occasion. Gony makes some room and Fernando tries to follow him. He swings across the line. Doesnt get it from the meat of the bat but enough to sail over the deep square leg fence for a maximum.
18.4 D Fernando to N Chopra
1 A single taken this time. Back of a length delivery from Fernando. Nikhil Chopra blocks it away down the off side for a single.
18.4 D Fernando to N Chopra
WD A slower back of a length delivery this time but a bit too wide outside the off-stump and Fernando has to reload that.
