Chattogram Challengers skipper Mehidy Hasan: It was an excellent match for us. Really happy to have defended 161. Out batters did well. I had a good partnership with Sabbir. The first six overs were crucial as the wicket was a little tricky. Nasum and I bowled well. Benny Howell got some quick runs for runs. Hopefully, we will do even better in the upcoming games.
Player of the Match Nasum Ahmed: Really enjoyed my bowling today. I like bowling in the T20s, especially in the powerplay. I challenge the batters who go against my bowling.
Minister Group Dhaka skipper Mahmudullah Riyad: I thought the target was chasable. The wicket was good, and the ball was coming on nicely to the back. We failed in the middle. I expected more due, but it wasn't the case. The credit goes to their bowlers.
Chattogram Challengers take two points from this game on the back of some top-class bowling. The likes of Nasum Ahmed and Shoriful Islam struck regularly to make sure there was no momentum in the Dhaka innings whatsoever. On top of that, while Benny Howell didn't get any wicket to show, he pitched with a wide variety of deliveries to contain the batter. Be it off-spin, leg-break, or medium pace, Howell had everything in his arsenal! It was a clinical performance by the Challengers in the end.
A great win for Chattogram Challengers. They dominated the game from ball one, and never let the opposition take control. No other batter than Tamim Iqbal looked comfortable in the middle for Minister Group Dhaka, and that is evident from the result of the game. While Shahzad couldn't get his timing right, the middle order got out to some poor shots and some good balls. Chasing 162, Dhaka could get never get going, and the pressure of dot balls and a creeping run rate got better of their batters every single time. Russell and Udana did smash a few out of the park, but it was too late as the game had already gone out of their grasp.
Second loss on the trot for Minister Group Dhaka, whereas a good comeback and a comprehensive victory for Chattogram Challengers after the loss in their opening encounter.
