India get their first win of the tour, Smrithi, Harman and Mithali played brilliant knocks to see them through to a victory. That's it from us, I am Ovaise Shariff signing off along with my co-commentators Ayan Chatterjee and Rahul. It was a pleasure bringing you the coverage of this series.

We'll be back soon with some more cricket action.

Sophie Devine New Zealand Captain: "We were off the mark with the bat. We tried well with the ball, fielding was not up to the mark. That's why we lost, but credit to the girls for their effort throughout the series. From where we were to where we are now, excited where we are and looking forward to rolling onto the World Cup. There is more depth in the squad which makes us excited. A few areas still to work on as we go ahead. The warm-up fixtures are ahead of us, hope to tick the boxes and make everything possible to take out from it. The wicket, ground, and everything have been terrific and we love playing at Queenstown. Thanks to our board for the hospitality. "
Mithali Raj Indian Captain: "Yes, to have the whole squad playing the last game, we improved every match, and to win the last game was great for us. Yes, I think before the big event, it's important to get good preparation, couldn't have it in India, but we have improved a lot. We bowled in the right areas, and the bowling did well today. We need to work on our fielding and bowling while batting was decent throughout. What is heartening to see, is when I retire, the team will be in a better space with more match winners. Thanks to New Zealand Cricket for the hospitality here in Queenstown. "
Amelia Kerr (Player of the Series): "It's being awesome, loved it being in Queenstown. Looking forward to the World Cup. India is a quality side, we played what is in front of us, and happy to do that throughout. I believed in my process and getting it through with the bat and then with the ball we were competitive and I like being in the fight so that helps me. I do not mind batting at 3, and bowling well whenever needed. As a group, we are heading in the right direction, we need to improve our fielding and we will be a hard side to stop for sure. "
Smriti Mandhana (Player of the Match): "Our bowlers did a great job by restricting it to 250 runs. It was a good batting track. We all contributed to me, Harry didi and Mithali. Yes, it was tough initially in quarantine, but I did well today. This was a good preparation for us going to the World Cup as we adjusted to the conditions. We will take all the positives out of this game as all contributed somewhere sometime. Happy to get the win and take the momentum forward."

Ovaise: India have done well to restrict New Zealand to 251. Opting to bat, New Zealand team got off to a steady start despite losing Bates in the sixth over. Devine and Kerr stitched a fifty partnership for the second wicket at a brisk pace and were even attacking the spin duo of Gayakwad and Deepti Sharma. Sneh Rana was introduced, she bowled two tight overs and followed it by removing a well-set Devine.

The in-form Amelia Kerr, continued to chips away with runs notching up her fourth successive 50 plus score. Mithali Raj kept rotating her bowlers and the four spinners picked wickets at regular intervals. Some crucial contributions from the lower-order helped New Zealand cross 250.  India had to bat really well to chase down this total and deny a whitewash?

India got off to a magnificent start with the bat despite losing Shifali Verma early, New Zealand bowlers missed their lines and gave away a lot of extras which helped the Indian team. Deepthi Shama plays some fantastic shots and helped Mandhana get India past the 50 mark.

In the 18th over Deepti Sharma was dismissed by Fran Jones, Harman walked in and stitched a good partnership with Mandhana who was looking solid at the other end, got past her 50. Smrithi hit the ball to all parts of the ground and New Zealand bowlers had no answers.

India were on 153 when they lost Smriti Mandhana who made a fantastic 71 on 84 deliveries. Harmanpreet Kaur and Skipper Mithali Raj steadied the ship and slowly started rotating the strike and getting the odd boundary. Harmanโ€™s magnificent innings of 63 came to end in the 43rd over, Rowe getting the breakthrough but it was very late by then India were close to the finishing line. Raj finished with an unbeaten 57 of 66 ball seeing India through to victory. It was a quite dominating performance by the Women in Blue today and they finally get their first victory off the tour.

45.6 F Mackay to M Raj
1 Fuller and wide, Raj leans into the drive and cover drives it for a boundary. So, Mithali Raj, the skipper finishes things off in style as she guides India to a comprehensive and much-needed win by 6 wickets with 3 overs to spare. It's their first win of the tour as they end the series on a high losing it 1-4.

45.3 F Mackay to M Raj
4 Short ball bouncer, Raj was ready for it and pulls it around the corner for a boundary behind square to get to her fifty.
