Not an end we wanted to the day, but there's not much you can do against nature. West Indies Women stay alive in the tournament with the one point they receive from this result. Do join us for the upcoming encounters as well. Until then, it's goodbye from me, Ajay, and my fellow commentator Akshay and scorer Ashok. Take care!
Stafanie Taylor | West Indies Skipper: "We can’t do much about god’s plan. We can’t control these things and we were only hoping to get some game today. Our bowlers are doing a fantastic job. Chinelle loves playing against South Africa and she picks wickets against them. Loved to see her bowl today. We will have some popcorn and hope that South Africa beats India to increase our chances of qualifying to the semis. When we travel and train and play, we don’t get much time to recover. So, it’s all about managing the workload and the niggles. But if we enter the semis, it doesn’t matter whether we have niggles or injuries, we have to step up and perform."

Sune Luus | South Africa Skipper: "Very happy and excited to be in the semi-finals. Not a good day, waiting in the dressing room for the rain to stop but happy to see du Preez get some runs under her belt before the knockout stages. We pride ourselves on our fielding and will look to keep performing in the same way. We have a dream of playing the final but there is a semi-final before that and we have to beat India in our next game. We will look to carry the momentum forward and a win on Sunday would be nice."

That's the end of a day that we came in with high hopes for an action-packed contest. The game finally commenced after much delay. A 26 over contest began with the West Indies Women putting on a display of some great bowling and fielding, albeit with a couple of dropped catches. Just when Mignon du Preez started steering the Proteas women out of the troubled waters, the rain gods decided to intervene yet again and the game had to be called off. The result gives both West Indies and South Africa Women 1 point each. While South Africa are through to the semi-finals, West Indies will now hope for either England or India to lose a game for them to progress.
Match has been abandoned. With this result, South Africa are through to the semis.
Akshay: It has started to rain and the covers are coming on. The players walk off the field and the square is being covered now. It's been that kind of a day so far. Let's hope this is a passing shower.
10.5 Matthews to Preez
3 On a length outside off, du Preez defends and gets a thick outside edge past slip. Taylor from point is jogging behind it and Kapp calls for the third and completes it. Good game awareness from the South African pair.
10.4 Matthews to Preez
4 Make that three in a row. Matthews bowls it fuller outside off, du Preez leans into it and drives it nicely in the gap between covers and cover point for a beautiful boundary.
10.3 Matthews to Preez
4 Back-to-back boundaries for du Preez. Matthews bowls it quicker and flatter outside off, du Preez punches at it and gets a thick outside edge past the slip fielder for a boundary.
10.2 Matthews to Preez
4 FOUR!!! Matthews bowls a juicy full toss on the stumps, du Preez swipes it to the right of mid on and Henry inside the circle moves to her right and dives but fails to stop it.
10.1 Matthews to Preez
0 Hayley Matthews into the attack. She starts with a slightly short delivery around off, du Preez defends it off the backfoot.
