That is all we have from the commentary box for today. Do join us for the remaining games of the ICC Women's World Cup. Till then it's good-bye from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) and my fellow commentators Akshaya Krishna Polya and Ovaise.
Mithali Raj, Indian skipper- "It was a game for us to win and yes we are happy with the win. Sometimes it happens over a long period time. The last time when I was inconsistent was in 2021. It happens. We will look forward to the next game. The opening partnership was really good. Its very important for the new batter in this wicket to adjust. Yastika played a very good anchor knock. Despite losing back to back matches we have managed to keep ourselves in the tournament. Having an all-rounder it gives the picture of batting deep. In a tournament like this we must have options in the death in both tournaments. For a long period of time as Indians, we have always banked on spinners. Today's wicket assisted them more. I won't say we are spin dominant as we also have good pacers in our side. I think the early think which we can look forward is to work out as the match will be played in Christchurch. Will like to do well in all three departments against South Africa."
Nigar Sultana, Bangladesh skipper- "I think it is very difficult when top order doesn't co tribute including me. We need to work on that. Obviously bowlers have done a great job. Even in the last couple of matches they bowled well. We restricted India to a reasonable total and that was fantastic. Yeah it was Shamima wasn't laying in the XI and that's why I was keeping. Made my job easier behind the stumps. We need to control the situation. Somehow we couldn't make partnerships. Lack of partnership cost us this match and also against West Indies. Salma Khatun and Ritu Moni played really well. Lot of positives to take from the game as well."
Yastika Bhatia, Player of the Match- "Very pleased I would have liked some more runs to contribute for my team but nevertheless, I am very happy with the result. In domestic I prepare for No 3. It was always in my mind that whichever order I get I have to perform and prepared accordingly in the nets. This means sometimes the wicket is not that good and the situation is also not that good so I am always concentrating on strike rotation. I have changed my food habits but while playing a lot of curbs goes that's why I eat anything.
Arya: Earlier in the day it was the Indian skipper Mithali Raj who won the toss and opted to bat first. India got off to a solid start courtesy of their opening duo of Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma. Mandhana started off with some crisp drives. Verma was in her shell to start with but suddenly started smashing the Bangladesh bowlers all around the park.

They batted brilliantly and found the boundaries on a consistent basis. Verma in particular was at her imperious and looked set for a big one. After an opening stand of 74 runs, it was Smriti Mandhana who was dismissed by Nahid Akhter of a long hop and that brought about two more in no time. Both Shafali Verma and Mithali Raj were dismissed in successive deliveries as India were reduced to 74/3 from 74/0.

From there on it was a good partnership between Harmanpreet Kaur and Yastika Bhatia which got India back into the game. Bhatia looked in good touch and played some delightful shots to get going, Just when Harmanpreet Kaur was coming into her own, she misjudged a run and was sent back by a brilliant direct throw by Fargana Hoque. Richa Ghosh then shared a good stand with Yastika Bhatia as the duo steadied the ship.

Bhatia went onto complete a well-deserved half-century while Ghosh contributed a 36 balls 26. Both looked in good touch but fell in quick succession. Yet again it was Pooja Vastrakar and Sneh Rana who provided the late impetus which ensured that India eventually reached a competitive score of 229 on the board. While Vastrakar remained unbeaten on 30, Rana chipped in with a 23 balls 27.

Arya: That is a comprehensive performance from the Indian girls and they keep their chances of qualifying to the semi-final well and truly alive. A victory by a huge margin of 110 runs has also bolstered their net run rate in case there is a cluster for the last two teams. It was a professional effort from all the Indian bowlers as they managed to restrict Bangladesh to and secured a convincing victory.

Bangladesh could never really get going in the run-chase. Barring a sensational six of the blade of Murshiida Khatun of Jhulan Goswami in the powerplay, the Indian bowlers were all over the Bangladesh batters not giving them any opportunity to let loose. Rajashwari Gayakwad got the maiden breakthrough in the form of Sharmin Akhter’s wicket and that started the downward slide for Bangladesh.

The spin trio of Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Sneh Rana and Poonam Yadav spun a web around the Bangladesh batters and they could never really recover from their torrid start. They kept sliding down the barrel while Sneh Rana in particular kept chipping away with the wickets. Gayakwad bowled brilliantly but only bagged a wicket but Rana was at her imperious best bagging a four-wicket haul as Bangladesh were bowled out for 119 runs.

40.3 J Goswami to R Moni
W Goswami has done it, She has cleaned up Moni by bowling a brilliant yorker. Moni tries to dig it out but misses the ball. Excellent yorker, Bangladesh have lost their final wicket, the last pair frustrated the Indian team but eventually got dismissed. Bangladesh have registered the lowest total of this tournament, they managed to score just 119 runs with the bat. India have won the match by 110 runs  and have moved to the 3rd spot on the points table.
