That's it from match 17 of the ICC Women's Cricket World cup 2022. Ninaad Dixit here, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Rahul Krish, Ayan Chatterjee and our scorer Ashok Daima. Wishing you a happy and prosperous holi! Stay tuned for more cricket coverage from across the globe.
Stafanie Taylor, West Indies captain: "Connell is doing well. It was a bit sad to see the way our batters performed but in the end it probably worked out as we shifted the momentum. The batters need to come to the party, we need to be consistent if we need to compete in this tournament. Our batting line up is quite long, we just have to come together, win games and be consistent. Afy was very energized. It was her first game in a long time, she has been working hard in the nets and it worked out. We need to talk about as a batting group, we had a close game and also didn't perform well with the bat against India and Australia. We have to put our hand up and bat in a tournament like this."
Nigar Sultana, Bangladesh captain: "It was a very close match. The way our bowlers started was pretty incredible. We couldn't build partnerships and we need to work on this aspect. We were planning to utilize the conditions well and the bowlers did very well. I told the girls to hit the right areas, the girls did that and bowled dots and picked up wickets. I hope we could play many more matches against such sides as this was the first game against West Indies so we can get better."
Hayley Matthews, Player of the Match: "Obviously, we were worried that she went down like that, but she is a fighter, not sure what happened there, she will be fine. We knew we didn't have enough runs on the board. The way our bowlers bowled, Karishma and Dottin and our skipper and myself, very happy to get the win. The experience we have in these matches helps us to win tight matches and that helps us to sustain it. The coaching staff also gives us immense practice and trains us and that has helped us win today. Great game, we are happy to win today." "
A final over low scoring thriller was on the cards here at Bay Oval as West Indies pulled off a thrilling victory by a mere 4 runs in the final over defending a paltry 140.

After restricting West Indies for a below par total, Bangladesh had a poor start as they lost both their openers in the first powerplay with wicketkeeper Shamima Sultana on a duck in the very first over.

Fargana Haqua alongside skipper Nigar Sultana then added 30 runs for the third wicket, the biggest partnership of the innings. Certainly something bigger was required for Bangladesh to pose a threat to the experienced Windies side but wickets kept falling at regular intervals .

Hayley Matthews was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 10-1-15-4. She got brilliant support from Afy Fletcher who picked up 3-29 in her ten overs alongside skipper Stafanie Taylor who finished off the proceedings with a three wicket haul of her own also picking up her 150th ODI wicket along the way.

Nahida Akter held one end and finished unbeaten at 25 off 64 deliveries as the Bangladesh batters swept whenever they got the chance to score the majority of their runs but loads of dot balls and wickets depleted their chase.

Stay tuned for the post match presentation.
49.3 S Taylor to F Trisna
W BOWLED! Chops it on. Stephanie Taylor you beauty. Trishna tries to carve it away, Taylor bowls it slowly, she plays away from the body, the first ball she faces and she chops it on she looked to the leg side and chops it onto the stumps. Taylor finishes it off as the Windies pull it off again. They defend 140 to win by 4 runs.
49.2 S Taylor to N Akter
1 Short and wide, Akter flat bats it through the covers to deep cover for a single. Nahida wanted the second, but it would have been suicidal. Good work by Nation in the deep.
49.1 to N Akter
2 Stephanie Taylor with the final over. Bowls on the legs, Akter flicks it away to the square leg region for a couple of runs. A better throw at the non-strikers' end would have done it for the Windies. 6 needed off 5 balls.
8 needed for a win. 7 needed for something we don't want for sure
