Australia won the match by a mammoth margin of 141 runs, this is quite a comeback after losing to the white ferns by 9 wickets in the warm-up game, they have definitely given it back to them. Meg Lanning | Winning Captain: "It was a
crucial period in the game. The way Pez and Moons played was brilliant and it
gave us s a platform to finish on a high. Ash came out positively and played nicely
in the end and helped us to get the momentum in the second innings. Schutt
bowled well with her cutters. Thought of bringing her inside the powerplay but didn't think it would be so late. We had very tough selections today. Jess Jonassen
missed out today and we all know she is a world-class player. We thought an
extra pace bowling option could work today and glad that it worked. It might
not work on the other day but happy with the result."
Sophie Devine | Losing Captain: "We should have contained them and picked up a few wickets, that was the blueprint we had in mind electing to bowl first. They are a quality side as they had the run rate under control despite losing 3-4 wickets which helped them to launch especially in the last ten overs and took the game away from us. Gardner was outstanding with the bat. We were happy at the halfway stage, we knew we could chase the total on this wicket but we didn't have any wickets in hand. We were poor with the bat. We get an extra day off so it is important for us to slip away from the game and take a day or two off from the game."
Ellyse Perry | Player of the Match: "It was nice
to spend some time in the middle with Moons and McGrath. I was slow to get off
but decided to stay till the end. Nice to get some partnerships in the middle.
New Zealand bowled well in the middle but we stuck together and managed to
finish things on a high, thanks to Ash and McGrath. Darcie bowled brilliantly
upfront and picked up crucial wickets with the new ball. We all know how
dangerous the Kiwi batters can be and credit to her. I feel I’m lucky to have
Ben Sawyer with us as a bowling coach and I’m working hard to get my rhythm right. Happy to contribute to the team’s success."

Ovaise: Australia didn’t get off to a good start, they lost 3 wickets when the score was just 56 in the 15th over but Mooney and Perry stitched up a brilliant partnership and took Australia past the 100 mark. Mooney was dismissed in the 30th over.
McGrath joined Perry in the middle and the pair put of a magnificient partnership which took the game away from the white ferns. They were 164/4 at the end of 40 overs, having just completed a fifty-run partnership. The pair managed to squeeze 20 runs off the 41st over from Jensen and that turned things around, offering them some much-needed momentum for the death overs.
Ash Gardner went absolute bonkers from ball one and produced a brilliant knock to help her side reach a competitive total of 269, Ash Gardner made a fablous 18-ball 48 towards the end which took the momentum away from the white ferns.
Chasing down 269, New Zealand got off to a decent start, got to 22 very quickly and once they lost thier first wicket it was all down hill from there on. Perry got the first wicket followed by Darcie Brown who picked up the important wickets of Amelia Kerr and Suzie Bates. McGrath was introduced into the attack and got a wicket of her third ball. New Zealand were 5 down for 35 in the 11th over.
Satterthwaite played
well along with only Martin suporting her a little bit, the pair put on a 38 run partnership, Martin fell to Amanda
Wellington who took back to back wickets of her fifth and sixth deliveries, got Jenson out on a golden duck. Wickets kept tumbling and a fabulous catch by
Meg Lanning finally ended Satterhwaite's resistance. Both Australia and New Zealand
were excellent in the field today, some magnificent catches were taken in both the innings.

W GONE. There's the final wicket and with this, Australia Women beat New Zealand Women comprehensively by 141 runs. This was a tossed up delivery on the stumps from around the wicket, Tahuhu gets down on one knee and slog sweeps it and holes out in the deep as Mooney from deep mid wicket runs forward and takes a very good catch.
