Milestone
So that's goodbye from me, Anurag, and my partners Anurag Dasgupta, Arjun Bhalla, and Manish Bishnoi from the comm box. Do join us tomorrow for the third day of the fourth Test between, Australia and England. Good night and take care!!
Dean Elgar | Player of the Match " Yeah, we lacked the basics in the previous game and we ticked all of them today. We have to face some tough conditions here and there was a time when Indian batters put pressure on us but it was an incredible performance from our bowlers. The bigger picture is for us to win. We struggled to get a stable batting line-up and we had to be very patient. The knocks I took will make me even stronger. Some would call me stupid and some would call me brave. When we perform like that for four days. Bit of a tough time for Rassie van der Dussen today. the 40 today will take him a long way in his career. Sometimes KG needs a rocket. You could then almost sense the intensity and focus, he was in the zone. KG wants to bowl and contribute to the team in his way. Not exactly sure, what is gonna happen in Cape Town. It is going to be interesting to see what kind of surface it will be"
KL Rahul | Losing Captain: "Massive defeat for us. I think we should have won. We had opportunities to win this Test but credits are due for South Africa to be taken. They really batted well and bowled well. We all felt we could do something special. The pitch was up and down but like I said, they were determined in getting the job done. (Where they lose this match) If I have to be really harsh, after winning the toss we could have put 60-70 runs more. Shardul had a great Test match. In the few Test matches he's played he has created the impact for us. He was fabulous in the first innings. He brought us back in the game, from the behind. (On Pujara and Rahane) They've been great players for us, and they have done the job for us whenever we have been in trouble. Hopefully as a unit, a few more of us can put our hands up in the next Test and put up a performance that will get India a win. They've been great players for us, they've always done the job for the team over the yearsVirat is doing great, he is already feeling great, and he has taken some sessions at the nets. Hopefully, he will return for the next game. We would need to check on Siraj's fitness. He is doing better with every day passing but we would need to assess his condition. Hopefully, we will turn up good for the third game. A couple of days break would really help him. But we have Umesh and Ishant, who are sitting and looking for their opportunity to come. Looking forward to Cape Town. We expected every game to be competitive. A loss like this is disappointing but we've always been a team that gets hungrier after losing."
Time for Presentation.
And with that, we come to the conclusion of the 2nd Test as South Africa thrash India by 7 wickets to level the three-match series, 1-1. The day belonged to Dean Elgar who was on 46 when the chase began and remained unbeaten on 95 to take the Proteas to a historic victory. This is the first defeat for India at Wanderers.

The play began 6 hours later from the scheduled time with Bumrah starting from one end and quite surprisingly, Ashwin joined the attack alongside the pace maestro. The Proteas started cautiously as both the batters respected the good deliveries and took the attack to the poor ones. The first hour of play saw Dean Elgar and Rassie van der Dussen negotiate a fiery spell from Shami and Bumrah to bring a solid 50-run partnership between them.

Just before the drinks break, Shami scalped the well-set Rassie van der Dussen which saw a massive rise in Team India’s hopes but it was all shattered by Bavuma and Elgar. They built a match-winning partnership of 65 runs to take them over the finishing line. Just when the required runs came under 30, Elgar took on Siraj and thrashed him for 17 runs in one over. The skipper batted for almost three sessions with tremendous amount of grit and determination to level up this enthralling series.
67.4 R Ashwin to D Elgar
4 HISTORY FOR SOUTH AFRICA!!!! The Proteas skipper takes his side home in this historic Test at Jo'Burg!! India's fortress at the Wanderers has been breached by South Africa!!!! Dean Elgar may've failed in 2018 at the same venue, against the same opposition, but he finally takes the Proteas home at the Bullring. Ashwin gifts a freebie. A good length ball down on the pads, the batter takes full toll of it and tucks it away to the vacant deep mid wicket boundary as he scores the match-winning runs. South Africa win by seven wickets, Dean Elgar finishes on 96 not-out. South Africa’s first Test win against India at the Wanderers? Achieved!!!!
