Milestone
That's the end of this run-feast but don't you worry as cricket never ends on this platform. Today's a double-header Saturday and the second PSL game will be going live in no time. Stay tight and keep a tab on our coverage. Thanks for hanging around. This is me, Arjun Bhalla signing off on the behalf of Anurag Singh and Ovaise Shariff. Stay safe and get vaccinated.
Mohammad Rizwan | Winning Captain: "We planned our chase a bit better, they posted a huge total on board and they got more than what we anticipated in the end. In the end, when we came into bat, when I Babar bat we plan, the same thing it worked out well with Masood as well. Running between the wickets was good, ensuring we never gave wicket to Rashid and it worked pretty well for us."
Shaheen Afridi | Losing Captain: "I think it was a good match, credit goes to the Sultans openers, they gave a blistering start and end of the day cricket was better. We need to work on our fielding, we need to stop those two runs from getting converted from singles. The bowling we need to focus on yorkers and land the ball in the right areas, it's just the first game of the tournament and we will make sure we correct mistakes and come back stronger."
Shan Masood: "I think the basics mattered, we played a similar practice match against Zalmi four or five days ago. We went about the same thing, respect their good bowlers, once we get set in, we went after. Running between the wickets, I don't like to run but Rizwan makes you run, it is a proper lung test as well, have to go down on your knees often and take a breather as well."
Shan Masood has been adjudged the Player of the match for his sensational inning of 83.

Chasing 207 on any kind of attack, on any kind of condition is a job. The job gets easy when the openers give 150 runs worth of stands. But the job remains unfinished until the ropes have been crossed. This game went down to the nerves until the Sultans crossed over the line.

The game saw 415 runs being scored as both the batting lineups had the conditions in their favour. There was no juice for the bowler. Having said that, the Qalandars took the game down to the end... but it wasn’t meant to be for them.

After winning the toss, Mohammad Rizwan asked his opposite number to send his opener to bat first. Lahore Qalandars openers took that challenger as they gave a livid stand before a collapse occurred in the middle-order. However, blistering knocks from Fakhar Zaman and Kamran Ghulam, and cameos from Rashid Khan and David Wiese gave the Qalandars enough runs on board. Enough runs? Alright, that’s questionable as, at one time, the predicted score for Lahore was looking to go well beyond 220. But 207 is no joke.

The onus was on the Sultans’ batting to try its hands at that mammoth total. And oh boy, what a hand they tried. Proving every critic and fan wrong, the Sultans didn’t let the scoreboard pressure get the better of them. Both the openers played stupendously, but Shan Masood was just class apart. And saying just class apart would be an understatement. The southpaw drilled the bowlers all across the field and beyond with his 83. Meanwhile, Rizwan played a second-fiddle, at the SR of 164, in his 69.

The openers shared a stand 0f 150 runs but then came the first twist of many. Rashid bagged Masood. Then some were scored before Rizwan got a corker from Shaheen. A dozen runs later, Rilee Rossow surrendered. Ten runs down, Tim David and Sohaib Maqsood got dusted.

The game then went down to the last over. Multan were required to score 16 more runs with the two absolutely new-batters in the middle. What was scripted next was nothing less than history for Khushdil Shah, Multan Sultan, and Pakistan Super League as well. Shah opened his account with a boundary and followed it with another four before he finished off the game with a whopping six.

19.4 H Rauf to K Shah
6 SIXX!! What did I tell you guys!! Khusdil Shah finishes things in style for the Multan Sultans as they go 2 in 2 in this campaign. Back of a length outside off, Khusdil Shah stays deep in the crease and cuts it ferociously just over the sweeper cover for a maximum. He has chased down 16 runs in just 4 balls. What a run chase by Multan Sultans!! I am speechless.
19.3 H Rauf to K Shah
4 Tries the wide yorker this time and it is the same result. Khusdil Shah reaches on it and squeezes this wide of the deep backward point fielder for a boundary.
19.2 H Rauf to K Shah
4 FOUR MORE!! Crashed through the off side this time. Pressure on Haris Rauf. Overpitched and it is drilled through the extra cover for a boundary.
19.1 H Rauf to K Shah
4 FOURR!! That has been hammered down the ground for a boundary. This lad can bat and he has to bat for the remaining 5 balls.  A high full toss on the body. Khusdil just manages to get it over the bowler's head for a boundary.

18.6 S Afridi to S Maqsood
W In the air and it is taken!! A phenomenal comeback by Shaheen Shah Afridi after being smacked for 19 runs in the last over. This is huge wicket as Maqsood departs. Very full outside off, Maqsood opens the bat face and drives it uppishly but straight to the point fielder who takes it very low on the ground.
Arjun: This would be the most repetitive line... but the game is still on. Oh, my lord!! As I am writing this text, the game was tilted. It has tilted in Lahore's favour.
18.5 S Afridi to S Maqsood
0 Angles the low full toss across Maqsood who gives himself room and doesn't even offer any shot. He wanted a wide but the umpire is unmoved.
